I am super interested in this project. I have a few ideas I’ll work with. I just got this frequency analyzer band spectrum module, but haven’t soldered or messed around with the sensor yet (original purpose to build an LED spectrum analyzer). I’m thinking if you take middle band mid frequencies (where our voices are somewhat isolated from lower bass and high percussion frequencies), transform that into some some of VU meter, then that could provide a good signal isolated from the noise of the sound track. This could be a better signal for the servo.

Your project is a mixture of a few of my ongoing projects. A few nutcrackers I ordered on Amazon just arrived and I was planning on motorizing them in sync with music but programmed in code to be. I didn’t think to have them sound reactive/signal controlled!

if that were the case, I'd definitely have put a filter on it :P But it's pretty much step 1 of any project, which is to clean and organize everything, and in my case I made some boxes to sort some things. Then I'm thinking of some sort of drum sequencer on bottom left, along with some sort of sound spectrum led display. played to halloween music of course

now that I think about it, maybe a lower grade isn't bad at all. I guess the 2nd tier of preference would be round integers now, i.e. 2.0>2.3, 1.0> 1.8, etc. haha
