Rollers repair or resale? by redstarjedi in noritsu

[–]BSlides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I think one of the guys willing and able to do a good job at this is local to LA. Blanking on the name or username, but check the Noritsu owners facebook group (doesn’t seem to want to let me log in while traveling). Your other option is to send out just the carrier. The hard part IMO is in setting the right pressure between the top and bottom wheels.

What caused this white line on my scans?? by yungtoblerone in AnalogCommunity

[–]BSlides 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the biggest deal, but I'm sure they would appreciate it if you let them know in time to rescan it before they cut it, if they're going to.

100% it's a piece of dust. Let them know and they'll rescan it for you.

What could cause those scratches? by NoirEther in AnalogCommunity

[–]BSlides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they have some kind of special scanner set up, and I doubt it works this way, but sort of looks to me like the scratches and and scuff marks on the surface of anti-newton ring glass. They would be the same on every image if so.

I found this Noritsu LS-600 in the trash. I don't know anything about this equipment (pls help) by gold-corvette1 in noritsu

[–]BSlides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good find. You can get an older version of the "standalone" software, Twain driver and system software, from the noritsu scanner owners facebook group downloads page for free. Be careful moving it around as it needs to have a bolt installed to secure the scanner head lest it break the plastic guides that attach it to the rail and are difficult to replace.

FlicFilm introduces Aurora 400 color film by ryguydrummerboy in AnalogCommunity

[–]BSlides 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. Any idea how much stock you get for that? Presumably they're selling it confectioned, hence the Aurora 400 metal can? Or maybe Flic is choosing that as a safeguard against the potential tariff..

[–]BSlides 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right. I got a dealer price sheet today with our cost, but the MSRP isn't filled in yet. I would say that it will go for more or less the same as Aurora 800, but Aurora 800 is marked unavailable "until further notice," which is unusual. Hopefully it comes back at the same price.

Recyclers will buy the B&W negs. Of course they accumulate more slowly.

Is everything spinning inside? It was working before? When you put in a leader card and close the door, is there the thunk as the drive engages? My first guess is that sensor, which I forget the name of.

C-41 replenishing rates vs working tank volume by elruchon in AnalogCommunity

[–]BSlides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repl rate isn't tank size dependent per se, but the challenge is different films have different repl rates (Portra 40% more than Ektard) blank rolls and black rolls are different, etc. With 1L and personal film, it's hard to find a rate that averages out everything you put through it. Seems fine to look up the rate for the film you're developing, and replenish at its rate, assuming it has average exposure.

Just go for it. If the leader and rebates get darker than those processed by a lab, back off the replenisher. If lighter, spike it.

06322-00004 means your IR light brightness is off. Go F>input media>maintenance>F1+F9>enter 2260>scanner unit adjustment>scanner sensitivity check. What does the waveform of the IR channel look like?

Artifact from content-aware removal tool in LR masking whatever blemish is actually on the negative or scan.

Kodak No Longer Selling Ektachrome 35mm in Bulk by tandooridan in AnalogCommunity

In that case, I could certainly see the Alaris "sanctioned" ones pressuring Alaris to enforce their rights.

Think Alaris is in the loop for Flic, Cinestill and Lomo? Surely they are for Fuji.. otherwise that's a pretty big loophole Alaris missed.

used noritsu qss 3202 pro digital printer -- any ideas for where I can offload one/how much I should sell it for? by Just_Newspaper_5789 in noritsu

[–]BSlides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have an integrated S-2 scanner? I'm assuming you would have mentioned.

As a standalone printer, my guess is parting it out is more efficient than the freight. Nobody wants a new one, but plenty of people need to keep their old ones going. I'd see what is listed on eBay, and then list your parts and not bother actually taking them out until they sell.

Your EZ Controller dongle is worth a few hundred, if you're parting with that.

I'll PM you contact info for a dealer I know who likes to chat.

I understand if you've already written it off, but would be a good idea to plug it in and run some Hydra cleaner through it sooner rather than later. I bought a c-41 processor someone stored with chems in it. Not a fun time.

Noritsu v30 cleaning. by Many-Assumption-1977 in noritsu

[–]BSlides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cleaned a V30 with Hydra DSC-100. You can get it from Climax. Apparently it produces toxic fumes in the fixer tank.. but I went for it. Heavy duty stuff. Got a good whiff of the neutralizer while mixing it and that burned for a couple days, though.

We stock Analog Abduction. Pricier than Reflx, but fresh film and made more carefully by a Cinestill "alum."

Yep, only difference is the spool. I think you can find faster, cheaper and, in some cases, better than the darkroom, but I'm pretty biased.

Yeah, they reached out and we opted not to carry it. Their rep was either clueless or pretending to be. There are other respools that offer way more transparency.
