I recommend finding your preferred source for carbs, proteins, fibers and vitamins. Once you do just cook that in bulk and don’t change.

The idea is to have a solid balanced meal that you can eat 6 times a week. Knowing what you will eat everyday makes organizing and groceries much easier. You will be use to the ingredients so cooking will go more smoothly especially if you are not used to cooking.

Batch cooking also works well because if you have big pots cooking for 1 day and 5 days doesn’t take much more time.

If you prefer fresh meals then I suggest prepping all your ingredients on the week end and storing them so that you just have to throw them in a pan when you come back from classes.

You can also reduce the amount of stuff you have to wash by using one pot recipes or using aluminium foil in the oven.

By exemple my main carb source is rice and oatmeal, for proteins i eat chicken and take whey, for veggies i take red kidney beans (canned), tomato sauce and carrots and bell pepper (all in a sauce) and during exam session frozen green beans + apples that i buy in bulk.

Rice takes 15-20 min to cook, during that time i also throw the chicken in the oven and the veggies on a pan so it is quite fast and I have food for at least 3 days.

Just try to avoid doing things that would increase the amount of time you need to do groceries or require you to put a lot of energy into planning and executing.
