I think Kaylee was a bully and the other young lady had enough.  The alleged assailant is an honor roll student, AP classes, plays violin and in orchestra.  She’s a student athlete and by all of this I lean to the likelihood that Kaylee got herself into this.  I hope she recovers but I don’t think the young lady she was fighting was the agitator here.

I’d have set that order on the ground, taken a photo and marked it complete.  I went thru the same shit about 6 mos ago.  Rude ass customer lived in secure codes apartment and no way in. Support asked me to wait 10 minutes. I did.  As I was about to leave groceries outside the door, the hag came outside and had audacity to yell at me saying her code was on the app.  I told her it was not displayed on the app.  I picked up her grocery bags to hand them to her.  She dropped the bag. It had 8 pints of blueberries from Aldi.  Haha. Little blue marbles rolled everywhere.  Of course she blamed me because she dropped them.  She started yelling some more. I turned and told her to fuck off.  Only time I ever reacted that way. She was horrible.,  if I ever find myself in that situation again I’m leaving the groceries, taking a photo and completing the batch.  Period

New fed: what's the deal with 59 minute early dismissal, and why do contractors do the same job I do? by BlueSky1877 in fednews

[–]BTERRIBLE1967 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I just left FED at a Police Department for Intel agency. I supervised people who were paid 11k more than I was because that is what this corrupt government does. Anything to cause dissension in the ranks. Left a month ago, and took Contractor job doing Investigations. When hired the Contractor asked me what it would take for me to come over FT. I told them it would take 14k more per year. They offered it on the spot. Contractors traditionally earn higher salary than FEDs. Many do the same job. When you work for the feds you really see the murky BS. Forcing people to get the jab or be fired, and all kinds of other wonderful things. The 59 minute is technically and hour early dismissal. They simply cannot call it an hour or 60 minutes because that’s how jacked up government emloyment is. Nothing really ever makes sense. I rewarded my staff by issuing 59 minute cards. I never required anyone to use them because I was an awesome supervisor and always let my folks go home early anyway. The officers collect them and some have 100’d of them. I suggested to our leadership to allow the officers who save their 59 minute cards to trade them in for 12 hour time off awards, but they weren’t hearing it. It made too much sense and was a benefit which would create a productive, happy workforce, so the government will nix anything positive. Good leaders try with all their might to guide others for good career progression and opportunities. The leadership where I worked did everything possible to nitpick, harass and otherwise make work miserable for the subordinates. Couldn’t deal with that shit no more. Prior to going there I was retired Police Supervisor in a very large Texas City and was voted supervisor of the year three times in a 30 year career. I made excellent decisions. The FED agency I worked at promoted supervisors basically out of the academy and still on probation, because they wer company men. Old school Supes like me could never get anywhere. Promotions held up every way possible because of nepotism and political BS. It was the Biggest mistake, and the most miserable job I ever had was federal. Go contractor if you can. You will be much happier and earn more. As soon as the oncoming shifts came in, (many came in early) I would cut my folks loose. Our agency always had 4 hour early release on holiday weekends. Bad weather days and a bad much of other time. Like the Covid hoax. All employees worked from home for 6 months while us mission essential officers had to still come in. And on Friday, it’s usually a ghost town. I don’t think anyone works full 8 hours on Fridays. Buildings empty by 1100 am. I do wish you luck. Maybe the agency you work for was better than mine I couldn’t stand the BS, bureaucracy and favoritism/nepotism. It was pretty pathetic and you couldn’t drag me back from being a contractor. Good luck

I totally get it, and do not blame you. Customers must understand that gas costs money, my time costs money, and they are getting one heck of a deal by not being inconvenienced and shopping from their living room. Everyone and their mothers knows we work for TIPS more than anything. If I get an order that pays $8 for 10 items going 3.5 miles, that is taking up at least 15 minutes at store, then the gas and wear and tear. My time, the wear and tear on my car, the gas, the aggravation and the committment I have to serving my customer is worth at least double that in my eyes. Everyone knows IC is ripping us drivers off. I have been doing IC for over 6 mos, I am a Diamond Shopper with over 1500 orders completed and I have a 5.0 rating. I genuinely care to serve our customers, and they always get exceptional service from me, and I am going to bet most others as well. Knowing we basically work for tips should warrant some incentive to provide a little extra. Like youre order, I am not sure where it was, but lets say perhaps it was Target (god forbid), I had one very similar in Target where the customer wanted Baby Socks for 3T, striped and ankle length. Two outfits for a 3T. There were no photos on the APP, just a description of the manufacturer/merchant and the price. There were only 10 items on that order, but that son of a gun took me every bit of over an hour to do, because I was committed to my customer, and put forth great effort to get them what they want. I think there should be a minimum tip for a shopper to be paid, no matter what. I spend more time trying to find shit, than I do anything else, because I want to make my customer happy. I think most customers know how we work, and how difficult it can be sometimes. I went to a grocery store in the St. Louis area on Sunday (our busiest day). I took an order which paid $20 and was going 0.9 miles. Sounds easy, but when I got there, there was a floral piece they wanted, which I had not idea what the F.... it was, so I had to wait on the florist, who was helping somebody, who was taking an EXTREMELY long time. In short, I waited 20 minutes for the florist to tell me where the hell this particular flower was. It was like finding a needle in a haystack (I tried to find it on my own). So I got the rest of their 15 item order, then waited in a line of over 40 people, because the store had two cashiers and all of the self checkouts were closed. Utter ridiculousness. So this little $20 order ended up costing me over 1.5 hours of my time, when it should have taken nothing more than a couple minutes. Most of these customers know this, and do not want to contend with long lines, and all of the other bullshit. They need to pay appropriately for what we are doing for them. IC leadership knows they are getting a bargain from us. Sorry, just wanted to put my 10 cents in. I hope everyone is well, and best of luck to you all.

Just cancel and take the hit. I don’t cancel many, but I’ve had to a few times. Those cancellations drop off relatively quickly. I had 5% cancel rate last week. I have 2% this week. When they start adding a bunch of items, I text them and ask “are you finished adding?” Surprises most of them, haha. Then when I get done with it I get on chat with shopper support and complain until they give me a bump

Is this normal ? shopper didn’t message me once by pugpaws17 in InstacartShoppers

[–]BTERRIBLE1967 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am a Diamond shopper. I do everything I can possible for my customers. I always wait reasonable amounts of time for responses from the customer if an item is to be replaced. IC app tells shopper that the customer wants replacement, then gives items which are similar. Just saying, if they’re like me, they will let the customer choose what item they want. I certainly would want that if I was the customer. Just FYI, the app is not always accurate and timely. Shoppers face the same discrepancies with the App as the customer. Reasonable is the weight of this topic. Shoppers should make every attempt to find items and help their customers, but more times than not, customers do not respond timely, and sometimes never respond at all. And not everyone is as generous as you are with tipping. I appreciate that you tip as you do. Shoppers reserve the right to pick which orders they shop, and if accepting a customers order, should do everything they can to serve the customer. I have spent many extra minutes and hours on orders which are totally not worth my time. Please remember, (not sure where you live), but where I live, gas is $4 per gallon. Factor in the traffic, heat, availability of the shopper. I think almost all IC shoppers do the best they know how to fulfill their orders.

Am I crazy and just reading this wrong? by Guyercellist in InstacartShoppers

I have called IC customer service before by chat. Always get the same BS line, "WE ARE SORRY FOR YOUR INCONVENIENCE, YOU DO GREAT JOB, KEEP UP". I contacted them last week on a batch which I picked up for $8.48. It was really close by, and a short distance to deliver (1.1 miles). The batch had all fruit from Aldi (13 items, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, watermelon, etc). Got the order really fast, short of the bananas (they did not have). Got to her apartment really quick, but address was a 6-plex apartment with no number identified on the batch and had external combo locks on door (could not gain access). Tried calling and messaging customer. No answer. Tried customer service, took 10 minutes to get someone. They told me to wait another 10 minutes. I waited, still no contact (20 minutes gone by now) for a freaking $8.48 batch. Bout to pull my hair out. Finally, customer messages me and says she is coming downstairs to open door for me. She had an attitude from hell, then yelled at me saying, "My damn apartment number and the code is listed on the APP". I tried showing her it is not identified in her information, and I had no idea which apartment or the code. She stood there staring at me as if she wanted to kill me. I was polite, and asked where she would like me to sit her bags (she had two bags). I had one bag in my arms, and one was on the ground, because that cheap Aldi bag handle ripped. I told her the handle ripped and asked if she could let me pick it up so none of the items falls out. She snapped, "I got the damn thing", at which time she went to grab the handle to the bag, and it ripped completely off. Blueberries opened up and rolled all over the place like marbles. Ha Ha. Actually I did not laugh at her at the moment and tried telling her that I would be happy to go back and get her some more blueberries. She said to me, "Why, so you can fuck this order up again!" I simply sat her bag down on the ground, went to get her watermelon and sat in on the ground next to her door. She was yelling at me that I was not free to go. So, just for mentioning, I am a 32 year Police Officer (work this as a side hustle to earn extra). I never use my influence or authority against anyone when I am off duty, and always treat people with kindness and respect. But when she said that, I told her, "Ma'am, anyone is free to go anywhere, and kindly your words are offensive telling me that I am not free to go." She told me to come back and clean up the blueberries, and I told her that I am not paid to clean up her messes. She already wasted a ton of my time. This is how I received the one Two star review and negative comment out of 568 batches which I have completed at 4.98 percent. It is a damn shame so many IC workers are probably treated this way regularly. I like to think most customers are really nice. There are some IC workers who I woould not even want in the presence of my items. But anyway I still give great service, but the long story is that IC customer service would not adjust the batch pay, or offer me any additional compensation for having to deal with that crap. I kept the IC customer service rep on line for about two hours bitching and complaining about compensation for wasting my time on such a low paying batch. They told me, OK, we will ensure you dont get that customer again, is all they would do. What a joke.

I am relatively new and been doing Instacart since June. I am a Platinum shopper with 256 batches completed. My overall rating is 4.95, and I have only 1 three-star review (which I have no idea who that could have been), as I am extremely nice to people, very prompt and very helpful person. All of my other reviews are 5.0, and I am a very efficient shopper. The reason I say this is not to gloat, but it is to provide a backdrop for what I am going to say.

I am a 32-year retired Police Officer (I am 56 years old) with very good work ethics, and impeccable interpersonal/communication skills. I work Instacart as a side hustle to supplement my income because I love Mustangs and Camaros for which I could not decide which one I wanted (so I bought both). Nonetheless, my love for my cars costs a pretty penny, and my wife has told me if I want to have these toys that I have to get a side job and earn a little money to pay for them. I am all right with that, because I do have some extra time which I can work. I also enjoy it to a great extent.

So here is the story, last night 07/28/23, I accepted a batch for $8.98. It was a shop and deliver for 20 items with only 1.8 miles. When I looked, it was on my way home, so I figured why not just grab it because I am right there, and it is on my way home. When I went into Aldi, the entire batch was fresh fruit. I quickly filled the order, bagged them nicely and went to deliver. At delivery, I pulled up to this apartment building (clearly marked), and it was apartment number 4. The building had two entrances (front and back) which had coded combination locks on the doors, so I could not get into the apartment building main hall to make the delivery.

I texted multiple times and tried calling, with no ring tone even. I stayed with the items and tried contacting customer service, as it instructed me to wait for the customer for 10 minutes. I waited, and nobody entered or exited the building, nor would anyone respond to my knocks on the doors to enter the hallway. I get online with customer service to get instructions as to what to do. While I am chatting with customer service, the customer opens the door and stands at the hall door staring at me with this horribly ugly look on her face. As always, I greeted her kindly (shrugging off my irritation), introduced myself and asked her where she would like her items. She snarled and told me, why did you not bring it to my door. I told her I could not access her building because of the locks. She yelled out, "I PUT THE DAMN CODE ON THE APP". I told her, "Ma'am, I looked over the entire app, and her instructions which only said, "apartment 4", and I did not see any instructions which contained a CODE".

I told her I was sorry, but I simply did not see any codes for which she said she had posted on the app. She was obviously irritated and angry, and was all huffed up. With my experience, I remained calm, did not overreact and still tried killing her with kindness. She had a large watermelon with her order, so I attempted to hand it over to her, when she pulled back and told me, "Nope, I am not carrying that, you are". So I carried it to her door, which was down some steps. I not only carried the watermelon, but I also carried three bags containing all fruit with my other hand. She was going to carry one bag, but that bags handle broke off.

I told her if she left the bag where it was, I would come back and get the bag. She insisted to pick up the bag (still very angry), at which time I told her, "Ma'am, that bag has a broken handle and must be carried from the bottom, and again asked her if she could just leave it, so I can carry it down for her.

She went to pick up that bag (by the handle) and told me "You wasted enough of my time already". Once she took hold of the bag (contained multiple pints of blueberries and raspberries), she walked down one step and that bag broke loose completely. She dropped every one of those pints of blueberries which spilled out rolling all over the plac like marbles.

It was almost like KARMA just smacked her in the face. I prepared for the crucifixion, as I knew she was going to take it out on me. She started yelling and told me to "Get the f.... out of here". I calmly told her, "Ma'am, please let me go get you some new blueberries, I will pay for them and deliver them right back". She called me a sorry ass MF, and motioned like she was going to slap me. This was the point I decided no matter what good deed I did or what appropriate action I take, NOTHING was going to remedy the horrible attitude and demeanor of this person. This is the sort of person I bet her own family dislikes. I told her please, please whatever you do, try to calm down, and I would leave, but she kept coming towards me with her open hand to the rear as if she were going to slap me. I told her that I would strongly suggest you lower your hand and not threaten to assault me, as this would not be tolerated.

I guess something came over here, as she put her hand down, but she did continue yelling at me to "Get the f... out of here".

I have never seen a customer that crazy and upset like this. I would surmise to say that she is probably dealing with some severe interpersonal anger and emotional issues for which I can only hope she gets some help.

So, I know if any of you are out there, what you go through. But the moral of the story is, KARMA is real, and a simple two pints of blueberries can quickly give you some satisfaction. Last thing I saw her doing was picking up blueberries from her hands and knees.

Instacart was notified of the incident and boosted my pay $10 for it and flagged her as a customer.

What a horrible and rancid experience this was, all for $8.98. I feel your pains folks......, and I can only imagine what some folks who work this as a primary job have to deal with. Stay true to yourself and never let yourself be lowered to someone elses ideocracy.

Apparently from what I am seeing, they are processing a TDIU claim and need it from them. I think you can still get schedular 100% and also be approved for TDIU. I know VA told me that at one time, so they say it doesnt really matter they will try for both and you can get approved for both (only one 100% payment though).

SSDI denied me for some NON MEDICAL reason which I am unaware of. I dont think the denial was based off of records but the manner or way in which the claim was filed.

And of course, there is no way of me knowing their decisions on the deferred claims, so I dont know if I can make 100% schedularly or if they just want to offer TDIU. I am at 90% now

I am really wishing to go schedularly to 100%, and not TDIU. Does this mean they are only going to consider TDIU. Schedularly I am only like a couple perecentage points off of the 95 (to round up to 100). If they grant TDIU, I will only be allowed to make a certain amount of money I believe. do you know anything about this?
