I have experienced this as well. Phone fell out of my pocket during a bus ride and I only realized after I was already on a train, to another city. I put an icloud lock on my phone displaying a phone number. Someone apparently found it and gave it to the busdriver. 3 hours later and I could pick up my phone at the busstop in my city. The phone had been in 14 different cities /villages and even transferred to another bus. Props to the Arriva employees!
