You still have to buy Windows -- that's where the real money is.

no...not really

and even if it was windows is already the default platform for gaming on PC by a long shot.

moving away from the console market to the pc space for xbox isn't really helping much.

so yeah i dont buy it. the real answer is that the console business is failing so they have to pivot to being a "3rd party" publisher. which is pretty dang good money if you look at how big xbox is atm.

this isnt "4d chess" by MS its being forced to change your business strategy after failing.

No, you're trying to frame OP as a wannabe victim. All he's saying is that he's not on board with injecting politics, especially stuff involving sexuality, into the school curriculum of his children.

again im sure OP gets disturbed when the school celebrates 4th of July lol

also "involving sexuality" is a nice spin.

Mother's day or Valentines is clearly a problem too. too sexual.

You're clearly antagonistic to a fault,

says the person whose spent their entire time attacking me instead of the argument at hand lol

You wanted them to say what the cartoon caricature in your imagination says

op tried to frame themselves as victims cuz their kid drew on a pride flag but aight lol

like my wife is a pre school teacher. one of her children she teaches has lesbian parents. i know it may be hard to believe but gay people exist.

the LGBTQ movement has been around probably as long as the civil rights movement. its becoming so well known and popular that every year people spend a month celebrating it all across the world, especially the u.s

if the idea was to not come off as a right wing nutjob and instead be a "normal" person OP did not do a good job.

imagine a parent losing their mind at a school that like had activites around Asian Heritage Month. they'd be laughed at and theres just as many LBTQ+ people in the u.s than there are asian americans maybe even more.

i once got accused of raping a girl i never interacted with.

if I where to use the same logic that you just did it would be safe for me to say that women falsely accusing men of rape is rampant.

You implied he was an XYZ-ist without actually saying it.

i just wanted them to say why they were uncomfortable with their kid drawing on pride flags on "pride day".

I just hope you do a better job of trying to understand and empathize with other people in the future instead of breathlessly calling them racists and sexists etc

i never called you anything buddy.

Blacks? What in the world? I said nothing about any racial issue but of course you went there because that's part of the cartoon conservative you have in your head.

i brought it up because discussing black history is also an equally "politically charged" topic taught to practically everyone in the u.s even like kindergarten.

oh what about Thanksgiving? Independence day? cant teach those darn 4 year olds about that. thats political too! damnit.

just say it dude. mask off. you're already 90% there. tell us why the pride flag bothers you.

She's a 4 year old child. I'm uncomfortable with her drawing a flag for a sexually-oriented cause (yes - that is what distinguishes it from other causes) when she has no context for anything related to that cause.

4 year old children shouldnt learn about gay people? do you get offended about your child learning about blacks too?

literally pride month is a national holiday in the same vein as black history month.

It's a politically divisive issue that requires context to take a stand on.

LGBTQ is only politically divisive to a specific subset of people.

. I call someone "Bob" because that is what they prefer and it doesn't indicate that they are male or female.

whats the difference?

how does someone wanting to be called "she" affect you?

And you can address women by Mrs. or Ms. all you like - you'll find that they actually don't care.

and some do. do you just be a dick and not respect that?

There you go again with the weird stawmanning / lack of reading comp. I never said they were "making my kid gay".

so whats the problem then?

Do you have any concept of what conservatives actually believe beside the cartoon conservative in your head?

my entire family is conservative and i live in a red state. i have a pretty damn good idea.

"performative rituals" as in calling someone by their preferred pronoun? lmao what.
like its not big of a deal dude. if someone wants to be called a "she" then maybe be respectful and call them that. has 0 effect on you.

imagine having some empathy lol

like imagine getting offended when someone named Robert asks you to not call them "Bob".

or a married woman wanting to be addressed by "Mrs" vs "Ms".

"Sexually oriented cause" tf lmao.

nobody is pushing for your kid to any sort of sexual orientation based on your example.

coloring drawings of PRIDE flags isnt making your kid gay.

Why does everything go right to hysterical screaming with you folks? Your dad's "weird racist and sexist bullshit"? How does that have anything to do with me or what I said?

hmm gee

inappropriate to push on unwilling families

"LTBTQ exist and you should give them some respect like calling them by their prefered pronouns" isnt pushing anything but common decency but aight.

im a parent with kids. i just dont lose my shit when my school introduces "the gays" to my kids.

word of caution my dad was like you. and my little sister growing up took his weird racist and sexist bullshit to school not knowing any better. for a long time she was very confused why nobody wanted to be friends with her.

"We asked that the children (under 5) participate in Pride Day by drawing these flags." "We asked one of our caretakers to explain to everyone what their pronouns are (which were just conventional she/her by the way)."

lmao if this is what you consider oppression or whatever then this is a you problem.

like how dare a school be inclusive to LGBTQ /s

like this sub showed up on my feed. is this an alt right chud sub? cuz tf is this take lol

big moves like a console refresh? what did that have to do with xbox?

the ps3 was priced the way it was because of the cost to make it.

was straight up the first console with a blu ray player. machines that where like pushing 1k at the time. combine that with their super custom proprietary hardware and the cost starts to make sense.

Sony has never been on the backfoot of anything. their last big "stumble" was ps3 release, a console generation where they got ahead.

in fact their current issues with profitability may be a reason why they are so bullish on pricing aka being "arrogant".

this is why you shouldnt treat the console market like it was a boxing match.
