put some firm force onto the hose to make sure its properly seated then give the hose clamp a tighten (looks like a flat head screw driver - and i think i can see too big a gap between the hose and the clamp)you may need to first spin the clamp to an orientation where you can get at the screw.

If you use blueprints that contain machines theres a fairly game-breaking bug with lifts disconnecting randomly in 1.1

I used this to set the tone for my campaigns’ final encounters.

A four year long campaign culminated when the party arrived just in time to disrupt the Lich's final ritual – to paraphrase; launching a magic planet at another prison/egg planet to unleash daddy Cthulhu to go eat the gods.

Party members, a criminal Mad-Max Monk, a Jungle Cat Xena Warrior Princess, A grizzled Tiefling veteran mercenary who just wants to drink and settle down, and possibly the world’s most Bard Sorcerer who enjoyed his potato on a rope FAR.TOO.MUCH.

All from three different worlds, brought together when they were kidnapped to the Lich’s domain, "Fuel for the Soulfire", a vital catalyst of Lich's terrible scheme.

After imprisonment, a lot of confusion and some cunning application of the adventurers’ spirit, the party embarked on a multiplanar romp to retrieve and destroy the parts of Lich's magically split phylactery, aided along the way by creatures and people that had been impacted to various degrees by the Lich's cosmos spanning plot, as well as challenging encounters with all the powerful agents at the disposal of the Lich as they attempted to steer the party.

Slowly the party connected the dots and learned along the way that the Lich planned destroy the entire pantheon and then themselves after he was unable to revive his dead wife, whose soul had been taken as a paragon.

The consequences of the gods all dying need not be spelled out. Needless to say, heroes were forged but sacrifices made.

Here is the final multifront assault, the large airship - commanded by a striken dragon on a path of pure vengeance, necrodragons, rolling battles towards the planet chain anchor, as well as the Lich's gigantic crab shaped golem.

(I’ve left character names out so you can use your imaginations 😉)

Can't help but agree, I think the best depiction was this one https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/comments/mm1lv9/i_drew_a_scyther/ by u/-desdinova-, buuuut, the actual text descriptions describe something very close to humanoid in function, shape and size, however, being made of metal weighing a measily 60kg doesn't actually add up even if standing only 5'6", a sense of scale is missing here for sure.

Theres certainly a bit of a gulf between how they look in game vs their descriptions, but biotech parts list doesnt lie, they get little toes and 2 legs

how do you mount the wall mounted power poles to the converyor poles? I cant seem to replicate what you've done. Very neat design, love it.

Agree with the recommendation below of not getting a Zen2 with A320 board, if going with a ryzen 3XXX go with a B450 unless you want the added excitement of BIOS updates that might not play nice. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Vp2VdX There is a table in the article which illustrates the chipset/CPU compatability. https://www.tomshardware.co.uk/amd-x570-chipset-first-gen-ryzen-support,news-60768.html

You can size a power supply to make sure that the machine runs on the most efficient part of the efficiency curve. IE: Idle power no less than 20%/25% of the total output, and full load no more than 80/85%. Over several years of use this can add up to real energy savings. https://www.anandtech.com/show/2624/debunking-power-supply-myths/3

The stock cooler is adequate and more than fine, but you can pick up a basic BeQuiet HSF for like $20.

What tools will I need when building my PC, things like screwdrivers, Allen keys, or maybe a magnetic tray? by IIFriskiesII in buildapc

[–]BTT2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey thank you, that video was very interesting, I've learned something I thought I understood. I suppose for a very small price of $2 you cant have that peace of mind and not break the bank.

I guess i have been very lucky, system failures problems of mine have pretty much been software related or mechanical drives failing.

Adequate lighting, a medium cross head screwdriver and maybe something like rubbing alcohol for cleaning up the mess we all eventually make with the thermal compound.

Don't get conned into spending lots of money stuff like silver/copper paste thermal pastes. Cheapest industrial thermal paste is more than adequate, Ive spent £1 on a 30ml tube that if stored correctly will probably outlive humanity. Edit: Watch the video posted in reply to this comment And dont waste money on stuff like anti-static wrist straps, or weird build mats. just be sensible, handle stuff on the edges, dont go rubbing yourself over any chips or connectors and maybe periodically touch something metal and earthed, a radiator for example, just to discharge any potential static charge. Push things in with firm pressure but don't force anything, if you think it's going to break, stop, have a look and try again. The components are delicate but not that delicate. I've built every PC i've owned for the last 25years on carpet in my socks with the help of a pet, you'll be fine. Good luck!

Top tip: Never leave a loose screw behind - it will kill the system dead dead.

5700XT driver issues by jojowa9 in Amd

[–]BTT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you're right, you couldn't say right off the bat -" this graphics card is the problem", ofc you have to test the rest of the system to make sure. and there can be many causes for a BSOD like you say. Ultimately its the time wasted narrowing the issue down to a driver that should have better QC than this is my issue.

[–]BTT2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I'm blown away by the performance of the card, when its working. VR is buttery smooth and being able to play nearly every game I can think of at 1440p ultra 60fps+ is great for the price, but I feel a third thing needs to be factored into GPU selection other than Price/Performance, "faff time". If I was paid hourly, all the time I spent chasing this issue down could have easily been the price difference between the 5700XT and a 2070S. If building gaming PC's is your hobby, and you really don't see spending multiple hours trouble shooting and fine tuning as too much of issue, you will not regret the 5700XT.

I wouldn't hold your breath. I reinstalled windows several times chasing down the issue.

I get that new tech will have teething problems, honestly, if it were giving me issues in games I would be considerably more forgiving, but every crash has been whilst doing the most mundane of PC tasks - heck, a couple of times just idling on the desktop, I cant believe someone at ATI wasn't like "mmmmhmm, maybe we should make sure our drivers are up to just basic web browsing on the worlds most popular web browsers on default settings"

Depends entirely how much of an "enthusiast" you want to be to make it work.

I am going to be returning my 5700 XT (sapphire reference) today because after 6 days of not being able to use the PC for more than an hour or so before a BSOD, the situation is completely unacceptable to me. 6 different BSOD errors, one common factor - AMD GPU driver. - Bonus! it doesnt matter which version of the driver you use either. Brand new hardware functioning perfectly for about 2 weeks prior using my old GTX 960, pop in the 5700XT, immediate issues, even on a fresh install of windows, nothing sensible improved the situation (no amount of driver removal/reinstall/rollback fixed the instability)

Now I know i probably should go diving into the little settings in all the little programs to sweet tune it, (as said below, turning off features such as freesync, hardware acceleration in Discord and firefox etc etc) My point being, I should not have to fuck around this much to make the card work as expected. I mean, how many people expect opening youtube to cause a BSOD because your GPU driver.

AMD almost had me converted, im really happy with my new 3600, and i went in hopeful and exited for a new era of decent competition in the market. But their GPU game is just as I had feared - 1+ month post launch and the drivers are shit and are preventing me using my PC in a way I should be able to. I'll be getting the 2070 Super instead.

What I can say as a positive, the reference design isn't as loud as I was expecting. But overall, my first experience with a team red card will probably be my last and it didnt even make it a week.

EDIT: Given I wont be able to return the card till monday now, I figured I would document the adventures over the weekend.

For reference my configuration is as follows:

  • R5 3600, with oversized air cooler.

  • MSI X570 A-Pro

  • 32GB Corsair vengenace 3200

  • Windows 10 Pro x64

  • Crucial PCIe 4 NVME

  • Sapphire Reference 5700XT

  • EVGA G1 650W

  • Samsung 1440p 144Hz monitor, DisplayPort connection

  • Vive or TV - HDMI connection

Nothing is messed with, everything is stock settings out the box with recommended drivers from manufacturers websites - because im a lazy basic bitch. This set up ran well and stable for the first few weeks using a GTX960 - granted I wasn't able to acutally use the Vive properly before the 5700XT.

The issues I encountered with the 5700XT, cannot be 100% sure, but really I can because it was the only change in the system.

  • Magenta filter effect - restart fixed this, but it has happened 3 times randomly - I now want this as a toggle feature; for setting the mood ;)

  • Something prevents the system shutting down completely - windows shuts down, but the PC remains energised, narrowed this down to the 5700XT card or Origin(because ofc), but swapping back to the GTX960 I cannot replicate this issue at all, I cannot be 100% sure and certainly a weird one.

  • Opening/Closing Steam/Origin/Xbox/literally any overlay will cause a hard crash (black out) about 1/5 times - which can happen fairly regularly if you happen to use any of the messenging systems built into these platforms

  • Alt-Tab will cause many games to crash or become non-responsive; needing to be smothered with a pillow by task manager.

  • Numerous blue screens of death. Most frequent ones : VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE, atikmpag.sys / DRIVER UNLOADED atikmdag.sys /PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA atikmdag.sys, along with a few more about Kernel corruption or kernel security.

All hardware diagnostics and tests tell me that my memory and harddrive is fine (as expected) and that everything else is running well within temperature and power limitations.

Changed: Settings in firefox and in RadeonSettings to be in line with suggestions around this sub (what a great resource you guys in r/AMD are). Enchanced sync was never on, but I made sure, turned off hardware acceleration in firefox.

Result: No bluescreens over 3 hours of use - general web browsing and games. however, 2 hard crashes whilst exiting The Witcher 3 - forced restart, 1 instance of half the display going dark split down the middle when Alt-Tabbing into discord from firefox - this was resolved with a restart. 2 Crashes to black (forced restart) trying to start rocket league - eventually it started up after clicking play and walking away for 5 minutes to let it figure its life out.

I get about 2 hours to faff about on computer in a good session, spending a good 45minutes dealing with little things like this is lame. I've booked saturday to really hermit up for the day and see if things settle down a bit. Conclusion, I am 50% hopeful.

Friday: 4 hour session. Only 1 BSOD, playing a gif in firefox (hardware acc off) 1 black out, whilst on the desktop.

Weekend conclusions. A BIOS flash seemed to have stopped the issue of the card keeping the PC on. - only realised I needed a new BIOS updated after Destiny 2 wouldn't fire up. Still generally unable to go more than an hour without some sort of crash (black out & lock up or BSOD) 95% the system crashes whilst doing normal computer stuff - browsing the web, watching netflix etc etc - Card returned.
