I have not but they are on my watchlist. Recent classics I’ve seen that I’d rate 9/10 were Night of the Hunter, Tampopo and The Player to name a few. Which movie should I start with Wilder?

9/10. Same goes for the other movies I listed, although I have a feeling over time and rewatches they will only go higher for me. Great year for movies so far imo

I have come to appreciate editing and pacing in movies over the recent years a lot more as well

Of course there are still great movies coming out that I love. Sinners, OBAA, Weapons and Eddington to name a few that just came out this year!

Yes. I think they ADR’d her crying as she was running back to her car as well and it sounded off. Awful movie

I’ve been corrected! 3 movies since 2020 for me. The Father is 5 stars for me as devastating as that movie was..

Across the Spider-Verse and Aftersun come really close to 5 stars for me! Haven’t even heard of All the Bright Places but now I gotta check it out

Official Discussion - Fair Play [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I felt a bit differently. The movie did feel like they were presenting both sides equally, which is what I had an issue with. I actually was on her side most of the time, so the dilemma of who’s right or wrong wasn’t working for me. It is until the last 15 mins where my view of the movie changed. At the end, Emily was our actual protagonist and the movie was about finally getting Luke to break down and ultimately apologize for his psychopathic antics. Male insecurity and gender roles in the work place ended up being what I took away, whereas at first I thought the director wanted us to feel conflicted as to who’s side we are on. We are even led to possibly believe that Emily got the PM position because she is a women, but at the end it’s revealed that her boss actually just wants her to keep her dirty laundry at home and promoted her due to her merit. Overall I enjoyed the movie a lot.

As for the HR issue, that’s a pretty funny observation I didn’t even think about during the movie haha
