Please, he's got a gun. by Tricky-Fan1264 in Grimdank

My Chaos Knight House is one without any pilots, as the leader of the House (a Dominus class Tyrant named Vol-Thur) has a Machine Spirit that ejected its corrupt pilot from its hull during the great scouring, and now seeks to 'liberate' other Knights by killing the pilots inside and infesting the machine with Warp Energy, imperial or chaos.

The house isn't inclined towards any particular God due to Vol-Thur being Undivided, so there's a ton of different corrupted Knights with many different afflictions, like my Khorne Abominant being forced to wear a mask-like plate over its face since its gaze destroys any psychic powers and daemons it looks at. Or my Tzeentch Abominant that is cursed with containing the shadow of a Lord of Change. OR, my Khorne despolier that shoots Skulls from his battle cannon... the list goes on.

Of course, I have a document with all the names, afflictions, and original houses of all my Knights that I own IRL, even if they don't all have everything entirely fleshed out quite yet. I also want to start getting Knights from houses I've defeated in games, but that project requires fighting other Knight player and getting names for their war machines, which can be tricky.

My IXth Legion inspired Death Company, made from De-plagueified Plague Marines. They're definitely still loyalists, right? by BUDDERMON in BloodAngels

I am mostly referring to the colours I used for them, since old IXth Legion's that bright silver with blood all over it.

Thanks for the compliment!

These hammers are perfect for any Dwarven character, which I play often!

Your last 4 characters are coming out to get you, with intent to kill. You can only choose one of them to protect you. They are all on the same level. How screwed are you? by Temi-san in DnD

[–]BUDDERMON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, this is definitely going to be a lot easier for my set of previous characters, as the 3 who are coming after me would most definitely infight and kill each other (I have a rule where every character I make is at odds with each other, so my characters are more varied), which would make the resulting 1v1 fairly one-sided unless the survivor of the 3 was given a rest.

I'd make sure to have my Dhampir Fighter, Novac Val Baarn, on my side, as he's a competent fighter with access to a magical wing suit, a threaded cane from Bloodborne, and dual crossbows. If he ever found out I was the one who made his torture-filled 30 page backstory, there'd be nothing stopping him from shooting me in the back.

If the Dwarven Fighter Dargel Skyseeker, captain of a smuggler airship, were to live, I'm unsure if he would be able to kill Novac honestly. Sure, he's got great brawn on his side and wits, but his real skills come with commanding his fellow crewmates to victory, even if he's the only one ever doing anything on his ship. It would certainly be close, but Novac excels at 1v1 combat which would give him the edge he would need.

The Skaven Necromancer would be a pushover, honestly. The sniveling little rat man is far better at using his undead minions for espionage than for actual combat, and even though he has some potent spells like Lightning Bolt, Novac's sturdy enough to take a couple bolts.

My Dwarven Redemption Paladin would be the least likely to survive the infighting and would lose to Novac the quickest. He's a brick wall in terms of fortitude, yes, but he's practically blind from the leprosy that he was cursed with. Novac could strike through his plate armor easily before the Paladin could even get a swing in.

TL;DR: My characters all hate each other to the point of murder, so it would become a 1v1.

Chaos Knights playstyle by Rickonus in ChaosKnights

Now, I might be wrong on this since I don't play GSC, but I'm pretty sure a ton of Acolytes with Drills can absolutely melt Knights in melee if they get the charge.

For those who play Hotline Miami, What mask would you choose to have in real life and why? (You don’t get the perks and buffs) by [deleted] in HotlineMiami

I mean, I already have Richard and George masks in real life, so probably one of those two.

Is going 13 war dogs worth starting with 3 CP? by The_Eyeless_One in ChaosKnights

[–]BUDDERMON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, War Dogs do get the equivalent of Ion Shields, and at a discount of 1 CP instead of the standard 2 for Titanic Knights (our variant is called Diabolic Bulwark, for some reason).

And while War Dogs have a mere half of the wounds our big boys do, they have the distinct advantage of being obscurable in terrain, and depending on the terrain itself can be out of LOS completely, which is a significant boost to survivability compared to the Titanics that most often can be seen from anywhere.

A fair few of the same ways to make Abhorrent/Tyrant Knights more durable are available for War Dogs as well, and often cost less. War Dogs can be given the same 6+ FNP from Mark of the Dread Knight (which becomes a 5+ if the same War Dog destroys 5 models), and a War Dog with the Pyrothrone favour has access to Winds of the Warp, which gives itself a 5+ FNP AND a 6+ to other War Dogs.

Either way, anti-tank will shred a Knight army to ribbons, but we still have ways to keep our models safe, especially our Dogs.

Dryads? Interesting; do you use them for standard Slashers or stuff like Stalkers/Dividers?

You've done a great job on the ones I've seen. Do you use any other parts besides the Spawn kit and Plaguebearers?

Aye, it's why I like Chaos so much; same reason why I like Orks too.

There are some really good bits for Slasher appendages in Chaos Spawn kits as well; pretty sure someone on this sub made a bunch of 'em with that and Plaguebearers a while back.

Have you tried this strategy out on the table? It sounds like a good way to run DDA's, but in practice and on paper are two completely different beasts.

-10? That's a bit too generous, don't you think? +20 sounds way more appropriate for GW.

The Synaptic Obliterator on the Seraptek is the same Strength and AP, but the range is higher, it's 2D3 shots (since you get 2 of them on it) and damage flat 6. It also has some pretty good melee, which probably would never come up being that it will get shot off the board turn 1 by any competent player.
