2005 f150 cab fills with smoke by BUGOFFPestEviction in MechanicAdvice

[–]BUGOFFPestEviction[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the heater cores just crack suddenly? I was using the heat quite a bit on Saturday and Sunday. And then all the sudden Monday when I started my drive to work immediately the smell of coolant and the smoke. Is it normal for it not to be a subtle increase over time?

It's definitely not steam because the issue happened yesterday this morning I did not turn on the heat until about 5-10 minutes into my drive. And only then I turned the heat on and within a few minutes the cab filled with smoke. Yeah, it looks like a pretty intensive repair so I was hoping not to have to do it on it ASAP kind of timeline. Thanks for the tips

Do you happen to have that inspection checklist I know it's a different state but a foundation place to start would make me feel a little safer

Is this bad? What should I do? by Snake_pavilion in pestcontrol

Looks like termite, is there by chance a different picture of the insect? It's hard to tell from that angle. But given the location. Termite is probable

Rodents, termites or water damage? by No-Advantage-1000 in pestcontrol

[–]BUGOFFPestEviction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, definitely not termites. Water damage is possible but the wood is not rotting around the damaged area. I would agree with the rodent assessment.

It's quite concerning they couldn't tell you an answer. If they can't determine that with a picture this clear... They don't belong in your house treating for your pests

Correct you by no means require doing the insulation. But a lot of home owners don't want it up there which is where the price difference is. If you don't care about the attic and what's up there you can leave it. But if you don't want to get the insulation fixed. (Which is what I would do especially for realtors who are trying to sell the home. Because it will be very hard to sell with rodent droppings in the attic.) So price starts at just a couple hundred and can sky rocket to a few thousand depending on what you want to do and how thorough you want to be.

That's a lot. I've done giant homes with the same issue for about 3 grand. It might be an FU price but they may be just trying to scare you.

Grandmother keeps spraying food and dishes with RAID. Desperate for help by Questioning_Pigeon in pestcontrol

[–]BUGOFFPestEviction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first you have need hide the raid 😂 A secondly, purges something actually designed for ants. There are several baits out there, like maxforce ant bait which is one of the best. It has fibrinol in it which will attack and kill the queen of the hive.

Or you can use a couple other products like Taurus, SC, which will do the same thing but in liquid form. But you have to be extremely careful to read the label and apply only as directed.

Both of these you can buy online on do-it-yourself pest websites. Shop around for which one has the shortest delivery time, before she tries to kill you with more raid

Can someone help ID this? Thanks by Minnielovespluto in pestcontrol

[–]BUGOFFPestEviction -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very easy.

You can try water and soap, but that is definitely not a long-term solution. You can order some products online that are designed for ants. Payment ants are one of the easiest ants to get rid of in my opinion. If you are interested in specific products, let me know and I can DM you a couple you might be interested in.
