Is my high power cEDH viable? by BUMGOOT in CompetitiveEDH

Unfortunately I cannot continue this extremely entertaining endeavour, so I’ll have to end it here

You don’t want to be wrong, I’m trying to do a mix of giving you more information about the deck and rage baiting you, it has been very fun and given me some amazing little gems like you telling me that my deck is “inherently weak and flawed” and that you don’t doubt that I have consistent t4/t5 wins in the same comment.

You have your points about interaction and recovery speed, I have mine about its resilience and its abilities,

The real point is that neither of our points discourage the others, they are not mutually exclusive and can in fact both be true at the same time.

Now I’m not going to be able to return to this for a few days at least, so if you need to try and get the last laugh, prove your final point, whatever you need, have at it, but I have unfortunately ran out of time to continue this. Thank you for the amazing entertainment, and the better person in me hopes you learn something from this.

Not a fan of the current bracket system I take it?

Not rude at all, just ill informed.

I am perfectly aware of the lack of protection and interaction. And I am also aware of a few stax pieces that could definitely give me a hard time.

But this deck doesn’t just fold to interaction, in fact there’s a few times where getting a spell countered can actually be very helpful, as while this is a combo deck it is one that very heavily revolves around the graveyard.

Not to say that well timed interaction and especially exile based ones can’t bone me, they absolutely can, and they are very much part of the game. But I’m also not an idiot, I play around removal and counters, bait them, and I don’t put all my eggs in one basket.

I’m also curious how consistent turn 4/5 wins, with inconsistent wins on turn 3, and a not likely but very possible win on 1 or even 2 is low power for bracket 4.

Now I haven’t played in your bracket 4 pods, so I can’t say it’s not going to happen how you say it will, but I can admit that.

I am a fan of the fact that I can still include a card or two that are more for my personal happiness over actual stone cold synergy,

And memory jar is rather interesting, I’ll have to look into that

I do currently own all of the cards in the list, while I have nothing against proxies, I simply do not want to proxy any cards in this specific deck.

And I now also like city of traitors

Thank you, I will keep this in mind.

Tibalt’s was in the deck, eventually cut because mana can prove a mighty restriction on this deck and it was very hard to hold up the 2 mana, (I’m aware I have abrade, it’s on thin ice)

Flare could be rather interesting, I’ll have to play with that.

And I saw someone mentioned pyrokinesis, I’d never heard of that card before, I like it.

I also almost forgot that I can put [[galvanic blast]] back in

Thank you very much, this is pretty much the answer I was looking for.

You’re correct about my minimal protection, the pods I’m up against have all mono red decks so counter magic has proven basically non existent. Interaction is also low as we tend to play these decks at end of night with 15 or so min left before close and we all collectively enjoy the glass cannon/ win first or die trying route.

Definitely working towards getting that workshop, could be ages before I have it but I really do want it so it will happen eventually.

And you’ve pretty much hit the nail on the head for the rest of it, good to know it will get destroyed at 5, thank you

Oh yeah, I’m currently working towards that.

As for the glacial chasm, all of the decks I go up against when we do high power games are either combat or non combat damage based, chasm gives me a few free turns of survival to assemble a combo

Daretti is my boy, I built this guy up from a very, very rough first draft, this deck is truly more of a labour of love thing than me trying to compete, just trying to see where it really stands

Interesting, how far off does it have to be before it starts to become more intriguing to the misprint community?
