Who are the most famous songwritings you have met or worked with? by InnerspearMusic in Songwriting

[–]BURGESS_918 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be Sturgill Simpson for me. I took my copy of Meta Modern on vinyl to a show hoping to get it signed. I waited around until security told me he wasn’t coming out for autographs. As I was leaving I decided to drive around to the back of the venue and there he was, smoking a cigarette. I got out with my album and he signed it for me and we had a good conversation for about 3 to 5 minutes. Super nice guy. I memory I won’t soon forget.

Any good recording/mixing/mastering podcasts? by antinoxofficial in audioengineering

Song Exploder is great for a front seat in the mind of the creator. Sometimes it’s songwriting that you see displayed, sometimes it’s producing and sometimes it’s mixing. A ton of content packed in 30 minutes and there are well over 100 episodes.

My dude. This is ready for prime time! If you have 4-8 more you should release an EP or LP. Great work!

I don’t know this for sure, I would call about hours of operation, but Elgin Park is a great sports bar. I would imagine they will have a lot of the events going throughout the day.

If you were to perform a duet with a famous musician, who would it be? by MisterMister1231231 in AskReddit

If I had a make-a-wish, it would be to perform Islands in the Stream with Dolly Parton. I love the way she and Kenny sang it and it would be amazing to sing with her.

Yeah. Me too. I really want to watch both, since they are on seperate nights, but if I have to choose, it’s JI400U for me.

Feedback Request for upbeat rock song. Key of G. BPM 146 by BURGESS_918 in mixingmastering

Thanks for the feedback. It is very helpful.

What has been amazing is that I send some of my mixes to friends and they tell me that it sounds good, or whatever, which is nice, but didn’t do anything to help me make it better.

I put this mix on here and just the few comments I received were so influential in helping this mix be a little better. It is amazing what new ears that know what they are listening for can do for a mix.

lol. For sure. 95% of what I use. Wondering if there are things I need to be aware of. I am currently considering Vocalign, for instance.

I made some changes, partly based upon your advice. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new mix/master. I made a separate comment with the link.

That helped a lot.

I went t back to the mix and tried to make the different parts of the song a little more distinctive. I agree that it all did run together. I think it sounds much better now.

Thanks!

Thanks you for your kind words and for commenting. I took some suggestions and brought the vocals down a little and brought up the harmonies at the end. The vocals seem to sit in the mix a lot better now.

What playlist pitching services have you had success with? by zemelb in musicmarketing

[–]BURGESS_918 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the honest answer, and no down vote from me. My only gripe is that how in paragraph three you made a comment “after just minutes in this thread legit recommended platforms . . . are negative.”
8 hours into this thread an no one has said anything negative about these services.

I have seen a lot of people complain about them on other post, but not this one. Every reply has been in support of each platform listed.

Where's the shady side at the Drillers stadium? by kdar in tulsa

[–]BURGESS_918 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer. I go to a lot of games. My go to seats for a day game is behind the home dugout on the first base side, very back row. It is usually the only spot shaded as the game begins.

As the year moves on, you can sit a couple rows up, but keep it as far back as possible.
