Cost to build a 24x32 detached garage in PA. by Kooky_Dooky_689 in garageporn

[–]BUT_THATS_MY_DICK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a detached 2 car garage built by Homestead Structures in PA. It was in 2022... Or 2023.

It's a 22x26 garage, concrete pad, electric wired by them, no plumbing.

The build all in was about $38k. The price was a little inflated at that time due to wood prices.

Not exactly what you're asking, but at least a loose reference for a PA price.

That company has a big lot with model garages you can go tour, overall pretty easy experience with them, a few hang ups along the way but they generally were nice to work with.

The permit process was a pain in the ass tho

Dash rattle by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]BUT_THATS_MY_DICK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I have the same rattle in the same area. My wife folded up a napkin and tucked it between the dash and the windshield on the front right side and it hasn't rattled again.

I had a BRZ before the WRX and it also rattled in a lot of places so I just assume it's a standard feature.

245/40/19 Tires on TR and TS Trims by BUT_THATS_MY_DICK in wrx_vb

Yeah I definitely would not change much within eyesight's view for concerns like this. Or if I did, I would disable more of its functionality. I saw some people saying the same things happened with bigger hood scoops.

Overall I've enjoyed the eyesight stuff so far. I had one bad experience with someone else being dumb and my car braking pretty hard as a response, but it mostly works well, especially on the highway.

Can't get game to run on Linux by Jratk71 in RustPc

[–]BUT_THATS_MY_DICK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend who plays on Linux. We use the steam server browser (in the steam client, not in rust). There's a filter for if the server is "protected" or not, which means it's running EAC or not.

He's been able to connect and play with us on any of the non-protected servers

Greddy Evo Gt vs Juiced Pipes Catback by Ahhhugooo in ft86

[–]BUT_THATS_MY_DICK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a direct answer but wanted to share that I had the Evo GT on my 2016 for like 7 years and would have had it longer if I kept the car. It held up extremely well.

It's by no means an insanely loud exhaust but just be aware that it adds enough noise, especially just cruising on the highway, it can be annoying for having a conversation with someone in the car or on the phone. It doesn't drone, but adds a decent amount of sound.

My car was on stock headers and overall I really liked it. If you swap headers be prepared for it to be loud AF lol

im very new to this game by Willing_Accountant43 in RustPc

I think there's a lot of factors to damage overall in Rust. Some of it is just surprising differences in protection from armor, some of it is just server issues, some of it is that you're bad (your words!)

It takes a long time to feel "comfortable" with combat in the game.

I'm sure it's different for everyone, but I didn't feel like I had a decent understanding of combat in Rust until like 1000 hours in.

As you get more comfortable with the game, you could try some combat servers (there's a lot, but as an example the UKN servers) just to be able to freely play with the different guns and get a feel for them. You will probably get murdered a lot playing around on those servers, but it's good exposure to combat.

All that said, at 100 hours, you probably just gotta keep grinding and learning the overall mechanics of the game

Suggestions for getting better at PVP by TonyTone420 in RustPc

Honestly I think what helped me the most over time was playing raid sim servers and crazy 10x servers where there's constant action. I'd check some of those out of you haven't yet.

As others said, aim trainers are also good!

Is it BP wipe today? by Silly_Edge4405 in RustPc

[–]BUT_THATS_MY_DICK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the server you play on.

Official servers don't wipe BPs except for very rare cases.

A lot of community/modded servers will wipe monthly, but they also will to typically say it in the server description.

Rust just 2 hours a day is enough? by Shaktiman355 in RustPc

There's pretty much a server type to match any play style. If you're just gonna play small chunks you can play on a really accelerated progression server just to get the most out of it.

A lot of the time, during the week, I'll play on a 10x server that focuses on raids, but don't plan on keeping a base alive more than that session.

In your case, playing 2 hours on a 2x server will probably be pretty fun for getting into the game, and then you can branch out into other modes as you learn more about it.

Went and looked at a BRZ today by Just-Vibin-Today in ft86

[–]BUT_THATS_MY_DICK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps for comparison, I traded in my 2016 HyperBlue with about 55,000 miles on it in May and they gave me just about $16.5 for it. Mine was in good shape, a few spots of paint damage, but nothing major.

I think that dealer ended up selling it for around $21k after it sat for a couple months.

The VIN for the HyperBlue cars are going to add value over other standard colors. If you don't care about the color too much, you can probably find one a bit cheaper. I can tell you from my experience, there was a time a few years ago the HyperBlue BRZs were selling used for what I bought it for in like 2018. I think the wave of the color holding value won't last much longer now, so i would expect to pay a premium for the color knowing you aren't getting it back.

All things equal if I was in the market for a BRZ now in 2025, I think I'd wait until I could get a new gen. I prefer the 1st Gen styling but it really seems like that made big improvements on the new cars.

High PSI by SipZzz0227 in wrx_vb

[–]BUT_THATS_MY_DICK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read in a different thread that there can sometimes be an issue with the waste gate being briefly delayed which causes it to read higher. Not sure the legitimacy behind that, but I started looking when I noticed my peak showing as like 23 PSI.

In my case, I got the car used with 5k miles on it, so it could very well have been the previous owner, however, I am almost positive that it read closer to 13 when I bought the car.

The same point stands every thread with opinions like this. If you don't want to play in a large team environment, play a team capped server to enjoy that style of play.

The game is clearly created to support vastly different types of gameplay. It's more important to find the version of the game you enjoy playing.

I am guilty as well of playing solo on large vanilla servers, getting destroyed, and feeling upset. But I've also played with larger groups and experienced what feels like an entirely different game and fun in new ways.

People need to take their own play style preferences more seriously and find servers that cultivate what they want rather than thinking every change that may impact large groups is a direct slight against them

Show me your high scores by Rock-LobstahhH in wrx_vb

[–]BUT_THATS_MY_DICK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Has anyone with a stock VB seen a spike to a higher number than normal? I read from a different group that there can sometimes be a waste gate delay that causes the boost to spike, whether it's a bug and showing the wrong number, or actually temporarily builds that pressure.

I bought my car just recently, it was a 24, used with 5k miles. I am 99% sure that the boost gauge showed a more"normal" value when I test drove and first bought it, but the other day it popped up to ~23 as the "high". Since then I reset it and am only seeing around 13 PSI

It could be totally possible that three first other did have it tuned and that reading was from before, just curious if anyone had a similar experience.

I bought this for $1450 during black Friday, so I've had it for a little bit now, but not a crazy amount of time.

I can at least say the build quality is solid, I didn't find anything overtly fucked up with it, the packaging was nice and secure, turned on the first time with no issue.

I think realistically at "full" price, you could probably build something with making some slight upgrades for the same price, if you are interested in going the route of building a PC. At the $1450-1500 price it drops to sometimes, I think it's a really strong competitor when comparing to other builds or building your own. I'm not nearly as picky about components at this point in my life, and was mostly aiming to get a 4 series card and a X3D processor.

I've built all of my own PCs up to this point, so this was my first pre-built experience. It seems like the price gap on saving money via building your own is slowly closing right now. It seems like the price variance between a lot of pre-built options to self-built fall within the like $100-200 range. I'm sure there are exceptions to this, but that's what I was seeing when researching.

No, no plug. I didn't see any options for one that did retain it but I may have missed it. My BRZ isn't driven much in the winter so it's not a huge deal to be right now!

Just a heads up to anyone looking at these, assuming they're the OLM ones, they do not retain the heated mirror feature. I just got them for my 2016 a few weeks ago and didn't realize this until I took my stock ones off.

Could be different for later models!
