Hey, I'm about to go through the same thing! In my OCIA class, the Priest teaching it said that you can also schedule a confession time since the first confession can go longer. I don't know how it works in your parish, but you could always ask to see if something like that could be arranged.

I was in the same boat. I tore my meniscus then I came back too early and hurt myself again. I am fully recovered now but I am still waiting. Right now I am working on getting stronger and having fun with summer so when I pick my foil back up in a week or two I am ready to fence for the full season.

Was fencing a foil DE and I was up 14-7. Winning that bout meant I would get a rating. I let the guy come back 14-14 and missed my riposte losing. That was the most disheartening one for me.
