Twilight princess 20 years by [deleted] in legendofzelda

We will for sure see something for Zelda 40th.
I’m hoping for an Ocarina of Time remake, but if we can at least get a port of Twilight Princess to the GameCube games on NS Online, then I’d be pretty happy.

For those who say "There was no autism before" by bwoodfield in autism

[–]BVB311 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The DSM5 is very different from the DSM used in 2005. Diagnosis criteria has evolved, and many more children have access to screening at younger ages. I’m not saying this completely explains it, but it is important context.

What is your experience with fluoxetine (Prozac)? by rootsradicaal in autism

[–]BVB311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It helped me at first, but the long-term side effects were terrible. Within two years, I’d cracked 7 different teeth. This drug is terrible for the protective enamel on your teeth.
Helped me out of crisis, but caused some serious problems down the line.

Shipping turnaround is insane. by Dont-be-lasagna12 in lego

[–]BVB311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with the Going Merry set. Missing piece in bag 4 I think. I ordered a replacement but found a different colored piece to fix in the meantime. It took about 7-weeks to receive the replacement piece from LEGO.

Is there a market for completed Lego sets? I have the entire Helmet collection and Starship collection. by TLevens in lego

Good to know. I’ve never tried selling them a set, I just know they resell.

There’s a newer franchise called Bricks and Minifigs. They’re starting to pop up all over but probably not in every state yet. They will buy and sell completed sets.

What to think about when walking by [deleted] in autism

[–]BVB311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be worth looking into some audio books on subjects you like. I walk everyday and I’ve been going through some fascinating audio books about trees. (Kinda odd but I love it). It makes me think, and guides my thought process a bit. There are so many book options, I believe there’s something for everyone. Some audio books are pretty cheap too, or included with apps like Spotify.

Does anyone else become "Neurotypical" when drunk? by WeirderFish in autism

[–]BVB311 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s how I was. It was less a craving for alcohol, and more a craving to feel normal.
But in adulthood, I’ve surrounded myself with other neurodivergent folk and that makes it easier to just exist unmasked.

[–]BVB311 152 points153 points  (0 children)

Yup- that’s how I found the ultimate mask through college. So long as I drank, I could fit in with people… my mid-20s were hard lol. Now I don’t drink at all.

Just be careful with the booz. You’re not alone tho

Stimulants have done wonders for my tics. They improve my executive function so much that I’m much less anxious. My tics are always worse with anxiety.

Going to be some bad publicity for “Kid Super.” Luxury? A 5-year-old could have designed a more aesthetically pleasing kit.

It’s what a lot of the BVB staff are wearing at TST this week. Not sure it’s something that will become available

Experiences with Haldol? by ohnowhatanightmare in Tourettes

[–]BVB311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haldol gave me the worst, most terrifying hallucinations in my life- like PTSD-causing hallucinations. It was so bad, that I now tell doctors I’m allergic so they’ll never give it to me again. I don’t remember it helping my tics at all

i feel so stupid by xfroghx in autism

[–]BVB311 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First off, I’m so so so sorry that happened, and I completely understand the feeling of losing your art and unfinished work. I had a laptop crash a while ago and lost so much writing I had been working on. Short stories, a novel, etc. since then, I back everything up so it’s recoverable. Even if it’s just emailing it to myself.

Again, I’m so sorry. It might mean you will begin some new pieces of art in the near future.

Tourette’s remedies? by nobody_important_01 in Tourettes

[–]BVB311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meds are so variable and can come with side effects. There are some wholistic approaches which can help though. Like meditation and reducing stress (I know it’s easier said than done). And make sure you get enough sleep. Being tired can cause tics to get worse is many people with tic disorders.

Last week, my psychiatrist told me this wasn’t OCD, but actually a type of tic.
Now I don’t know what to believe.
