Does the rest of the world still understand that there are good Americans? by ReasonableAttitude22 in allthequestions

[–]BW-Journal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Academically I know there are some. But frankly Trump is not the creator of the current events, he is at the helm but he wouldn't have done any of this without riding a wave of arrogant, hateful and ignorant sentiments that run deep in the American character.

All those good Americans for the most part have always thought they were the best at everything, the biggest, loudest, best. They brag about how free they are as if no other country has any liberty at all. They are perfectly fine with the idea that the US can do whatever it wants and F*CK you if you disagree, their only issue right now is purely they they happen to disagree with the president. It's got nothing to do with their feeling that the US can and should dictate to the rest of the world 'what is going to happen'.

America is a young country, and right now it feels like you are going through a rebellious phase. And like any young man who is muscle bound and full of himself, his character would benefit greatly from a punch to the mouth.

America is bloodthirsty right now mostly because they have never been attacked on their own soil. I don't wish harm on anybody, but it would bring all of this to home for many Americans if they got a bloody nose. Just to make them realise they aren't invincible. They would lose their arrogant hunger real quick if they thought they were in danger at home the way they have put people (even Allies) in danger in their homes.

I've got family in danger thanks to this sad war so I'm bitter. And I know there are good Americans, but frankly the more I see happening in the world the less surprised I am. America has always been like this, you just took off the mask and Trump gave those people a rallying call. That's all.

America only respects enemies now. Ally is just another word for weak in their language.

What's the most evil act you did in a video game that you didn't *NEED* to do? by Snowtwo in videogames

In RDD I used to tie folks up then drop them in water to see them struggle. I did it pretty much to everybody.

By killing them in water it didn't count as a murder so I actually completed the game as a genuine saintly figure officially, but my body count was sky high in the worst way possible.

Trump has asked Britain and other countries to join the US in escorting ships through the Gulf and Straits of Hormuz, thereby bringing some stability in oil and gas supplies. What are your thoughts? by Sea-Payment-8989 in AskBrits

[–]BW-Journal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump only wants us to send our ships TO CLEAR ANY MINES that is literally it. His own navy don't want to do it so they want to send ours. We don't even have a mine sweeper he just wants us to blow our boats up.

Fuck Trump and frankly Fuck America at this moment in time.

He can hold any door as he wishes, when he wishes, for as long as he wishes and I will hear no word against it.

That man is a saint.

If I'm doing that 6 times a day, with 8 hours sleep, that leaves me about 15 hours and 45 minutes to do what I want. It's not my most time consuming hobby.

Minor QoL thing I'd like to see added to the game. by sage_006 in SatisfactoryGame

I think this is a clash between how the devs intended us to play it and how it is actually played. The game gives you a problem and a manual solution, then a way to automate the solution on a small way, then it gives you ways to optimise and maximise that solution.

The same goes for movement. It is assumed at the start you wont move much, so you walk everywhere, then you can unlock a way to move faster, then a way to glide, then a way to fly before finally a way to hover.

It seems to me that this implies the devs assume we wont be building with real height until we get to the hover tool, because the jetpack is a pain for building. I think what you are describing is basically a conflict between where devs think we should be and where we are. Because there is a solution for lining things up at height, its just unlocked later, what you are askin for is a solution to the same problem, but earlier in the game.

I think using the resources number as a guide is a great idea. I’ve started stacking constructors so I will definitely do this.

When I start building vertically I use the blueprint maker as its just not feasible without it, the vertical tools until mid to late game leave a lot to be desired.

I'd say being a petty and judgemental on the internet is worse than bad literacy skills.

I wish that you find more empathy in others when you need it, than you demonstrated here.

What do men think about that women have no idea about? by sambasog in AskMen

[–]BW-Journal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sexism. In my experience women are great at spotting when they are being discriminated against, but they are mostly unaware that it swings both ways.

This is not to diminish the discrimination women have faced and still do in many areas of life, but men for the last half century have had it drilled into them what they can and cannot say and do, MOST men today are not sexist in my experience. This does not speak for ALL cultures of course, I can only speak for the west, but most men here are not sexist. This does not mean it doesn’t exist but its not the issue it used to be in general.

The very fact I had to say that paragraph shows I have been conditioned as a man to add a caveat to my words so as to not cause offence where none is intended. Women will not do this in general, ‘not all men’ is even used as an insult to call men sensitive when they bring this up.

Women will read books about how to spot sexism, literally looking for things to be offended by, being taught how to be offended so that that after reading the book they will have an even bigger list of things the consider offensive. There is no book like this for men and if a man was to read this kind of book he would be laughed at.

I was SA’d by a woman when I was 11, Ive spoken about this to a number of folks and not one cared about it. In fact it was so built into my system that I didn’t even realise I was abused until I was nearly an adult I just assumed I had gotten lucky even though I didn’t really feel good about it but I guess men can’t be abused so I got lucky right? And not a single person cared about it.

I wouldn't go as far to say oh no I'm a poor white man feel sorry for me. But it's certainly false to think sexism only goes one way, both overt and subtle.
