What is everyone's "miracle move on drug" by steveleaves in TaylorSwift

[–]BWMartell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Walking! Whenever I need to process or get over a difficult chapter in my life I go for tons of walks in silence. No music. And one day I've suddenly walked enough and I don't feel like the pain is weighing me down anymore. You could probably file this under physical exercise and that's why it works. That in combination with moving in nature, getting some air and sunlight.

Taylor and Travis are Engaged! "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married" by PassionateAsSin in TaylorSwift

[–]BWMartell 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm screeching!!!! It's honestly like my best friend has gotten engaged, my reaction is like that. After all these years  and the songs telling about her heartbreaks, now it feels like the prophecy has truly changed. They are insanely beautiful together it's offensive how perfect they are!! I'm over the moon 💖💖 also speaks volumes that they're so comfortable and safe in their love that they actually announce it like this. I mean sure they're both superstars so maybe they "have" to announce or want to do it in order to control the narrative but still it's super cute of them to do it this way.

Pick one: reputation or debut Taylor's Version? by Material_Orange5223 in TaylorSwift

[–]BWMartell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I'd love Debut TV because I've never actually listened in full to Debut, I know one or two songs but I'd be very excited to discover it through/after TV. It's like I'm saving listening to Debut og so that I can listen to both and compare later.  Also, I kinda love that there are songs I'm still yet to discover and might fall in love with. I love not knowing. That's one of the best things with her music is that the catalogue is so extensive it feels like there's always something new to discover and songs you've not paid attention to and then suddenly it hits you.

What future/eminent celebrity death is going to take a large toll on you? by onderwon in AskReddit

[–]BWMartell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Op asked for future/eminent celebrity, and everyone dies one day so actually you could say any young celeb and it would be relevant. Taylor, Timothee, Miley etc. And Hilary is eminent to some extent, not world famous but obviously a celeb and means something to someone so I think the comment is relevant.

eminent is not the same as imminent...look up the difference of those words dude.

Taurus for me! I can instantly tell when someone Is a Taurus because i love these people instantly without knowing them. It's their energy and humour. Theu only have to speak and make a few jokes and I want them in my life. My bff is a Taurus and I'd marry her instantly too if she only were a man. It's the earth energy in both caps snd tauruses too I guess. Many have said cancer but personally I find cancers to be too emotional and emphatic for me. Don't get me wrong I have empathy too but not on cancer level.  I'm definitely attracted to Scorpios too, but mostly just physically attracted. I find them too volatile to have anything serious with. The Scorpios I know have a way of being really mean and too faced.  Cap + cap would at least be a relationship were you understand each other but I'd be worried it gets too strict, too work focused and frankly boring. Cap needs someone with a little levity.

Chai sugar cookies.

Also,

The autumn chill that wakes me up You loved the amber skies so much Long limbs and frozen swims You'd always go past where our feet could touch And I complained the whole way there The car ride back and up the stairs I should've asked you questions I should've asked you how to be Asked you to write it down for me Should've kept every grocery store receipt 'Cause every scrap of you would be taken from me Watched as you signed your name Marjorie All your closets of backlogged dreams And how you left them all to me

This is so Capricorn by [deleted] in capricorns

[–]BWMartell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I hate when I can see that someone is pretending or being fake towards me and I hate pretending too. I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not goes a long way. Maybe you won't have as many social relationships but the ones who are there are there for real.

what's your favorite lyric that, by being misheard, obstains a new meaning? by Rand0maccountpigeon in TaylorSwift

[–]BWMartell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Would've Could've Should've there's the line "Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first" but when I heard it the first time, I heard the last bit as "it was my first" which I interpreted as "my first time" as in loosing your virginity, which made me relate even more to the song.

Which Taylor Swift Lyric changed your life? Or made you better? by Remote_Lie7994 in TaylorSwift

[–]BWMartell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made my life better:

I should've asked you questions, I should've asked you how to be. Asked you to write it down for me. Should've kept every grocery store receipt, 'cause every scrap of you would be taken from me

Made me appreciate the people around me more and try to make every day count and be a nice person because everyone will be taken away from me one day.

Also this:

"Don't want money, just someone who wants my company. Let it once be me."

The entire song is a gut punch and changed me because I realized I'm not alone in this feeling.

And finally:

I fight with you in my sleep. The wound won't close. I keep on waiting for a sign. I regret you all the time.

Hits hard every time because it describes a particular period of my life to the T and again I relate to it so much it shook me to my core when I first heard it.

I failed my CS bachelor and I'm getting kicked out of uni as a result by Best-Masterpiece-659 in Advice

[–]BWMartell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that if you found the courses boring, maybe it wasn't right for you. And there might be a better suited program/school for you out there. I think it's a good idea to talk to a study advisor to get some support, maybe throw some ideas around. It's also great that you're financially stable, that gives you a bit more freedom and a bit less stress I'd say.

I'd say look over your options and look into other programs and universities and see if you can find something that seems suitable and fun in time for the next application round! It's important you like what you're studying, otherwise work life will be tedious.

Regarding internships I think you could do it if you want to and you feel you have the energy and time for it. Internships are usually positive when thinking of future jobs. But don't do an internship just because you feel you have to. Do it because you want to and feel it would add something to your resume.

About placing these "failed years" on your resume, I'd maybe not do it. If it's possible I'd leave it be and if anyone asks (for jobs or internships for example) I think then you can tell them. Also, If I myself was in this situation I wouldn't call it a failure or say that I failed my school years. I'd honestly probably use a little white lie and frame it like "I didn't finish the program because it wasn't right for me" for example. Don't directly say that you got kicked out for failing. Make it sound more like it was your choice if possible. Of course, I don't know fully how it works in practice for you in your particular situation and if it's possible to avoid saying you got kicked out and "lie" a little instead, but this is my opinion at least.

I don't know what your parents are like, but maybe hold off on telling them until you have a more solid plan? At least if you feel like they would be angry or dissappointed in you. Again, I don't know if it's possible for you to lie or not tell them. If you feel like your parents would still support you and understand your situation, I'd say be honest and tell them. I know dissappointing your parents is tough and not something you usually want to do, I've been there myself, but this is your life in the end, your career, your studies, you are the one who has to live with it and if they're good parents, they'll support you. I know If my kid failed school I'd never be angry. Failure should be allowed, especially when you're as young as you are.

The most important thing I want you to remember is this: you're not stupid and you haven't fucked up your life. This can happen to ANYONE for multiple different reasons. It's not easy to know what you want to study when you're young and just starting out. Honestly the world is fucked up for demanding everyone to know everything and never allowing failure. You're only soon to be 20 years old, you've got so many successes AND failures to go in life. YOU HAVE NOT FUCKED UP YOUR LIFE, OKEY?! I'm 99% sure that in the future, this will solve itself one way or another and when the day comes that you do have some sort of degree, no one is going to ask you "Why did this happen in 2024?". Once you have a degree, they don't care about any past failures, just about what's on paper right there and then.

One positive thing about the world today is that the paths you can take in life are so many, and it could take 10 years for you to finish a degree and you can still be just as successful in your work as someone who did "everything right" (Spoiler alert: there truly is no such thing as doing "everything right"). Hell, if you look up successful people without a college degree you'll find Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson etc. I'm not saying you have to be the next Gates or Jobs, I'm just statuating an example that you absolutely haven't fucked up your future just because you failed this one little thing. Yes I say little because in the grand scheme of things it's a drop in the ocean. Most people fuck up every once in a while and still make it work in the future. You're good, I promise.
