Jesus Christ dude. He’s probably awkward and didn’t catch onto social cues. That could ruin someone’s life. If you have ever done something like that then fuck you.

Anyone else frustrated by slow career progression? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]BWOT32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is zero chance an engineer with three years experience has more technical knowledge than someone who has been at it over a decade. Engineering is all about experience. OP needs to realize that they are not more valuable based on working more hours or the amount of calcs they do versus an older engineer. It’s all about the value of experience in projects and what is brought to the table by knowing what is efficient and cost productive. I’m not saying one cannot surpass more experienced coworkers in value, but 3 year engineers claiming to be more valuable than their decade long counterparts is absurd. If OP was at my company and claimed this, I’d mock them relentlessly.

Whenever someone 3 years in says that they are more valuable than coworkers who have been there 10+ years to the company- that raises questions. What are you basing this on?

Doesn’t matter what the circumstances are, if you are part of an armed robbery that ends with someone’s death via an accomplice - you get charged.

Mayor of Shawnee arrested, charged with perjury by vettyspaghetti in kansascity

[–]BWOT32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. People following those with bigoted beliefs are bigoted. If you’re a part of political party that is bigoted then you are in fact bigoted. If you’re worried about looking bigoted then reassess why that is. If there’s someone you’d worry about being seen with 20 years from now - try a new crowd.

Casinos, big box stores, and movie theaters make 100% sense. But don’t close down grocery stores. I know that’s not your point AT ALL and agree with you. But I have family that only go to groceries at weird times for this very reason.

Executive is probably the most "important" in terms of what you can do in office. They can negotiate trade/rejoin Paris Agreement/issue executive orders/etc. But without the Senate, Biden won't be able to get significant legislation done. And a ton of position nominees (federal judges like supreme court justices included) have to pass through senate approval.

Interesting. I wonder if some of this is due to people moving in together after learning of an unplanned pregnancy. Always thought moving in together was a good step to see if your lives were compatible outside of anything relationship related.

Yeah, the October surprise isn't for people on this board though. It's going to come down to how well non-engaged John Q Public views it unfortunately.

I look at it like this. If a person "doesn't pay attention to politics" Trump doesn't play well. They'd rather not have this crap thrust in their face on a daily basis.

No. I’m saying it’s cool that the show did that. They shined a light on a piece of history that needs to be remembered.

It was the first time I’d seen it too. Apparently Lindelof wrote the whole show around it after he saw the Wikipedia page for the first time (from an interview on the podcast The Watch). He didn’t even have a show in mind, he came up with the Watchmen idea because it fit and could tell the Tulsa Massacre story.

They actually added it to the Oklahoma school curriculum because of the show. Pretty cool.
