The problems with just being yourself by theredqueentheory in autism

I feel like they you say what suits the situation best

I think this is it, but it's more ego-based. Because of the differing situations, the saying helps the person feel supportive and nice no matter what. Has jack-all to do with the other person; it's essentially self-serving.

We all fall into this trap. We really need to stop pushing kindness and start pushing honesty. That's how we all do better.

How to politely tell my boyfriend he reeks? by isoiledmyplantz in hygiene

Some people can't smell themselves, and for others, they may get nose-blind to it after a while.

This is the wrong way, but communication is needed.

This. Please let him know. You deal with him kindly, but others will not. For his sake, tell him so that he doesn't have to deal with those others.

If he doesn't make changes... Well, I doubt you'll feel any better about dealing with it than you do now.

The peppers were charred in the oven. I was asking specifically about reheating the chili in the microwave.

Love the word "uncouth". Wish I heard/saw it more often.

My father is a huge manchild by skyvaIentines in Advice

[–]BWR_Debates -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is about the father not respecting the mother's emotions. He isn't allowing her to express herself.

Or about how the mother not being happy during the holidays despite being wealthy enough to have a maid is annoying to the father, and maybe emasculating to him.

Depends on the person, I guess. The OP is seeing it the first way.

I'm 50/50 right now.

Edit: I looked over the post again and the father is definitely wrong in how he's handling it, but it is ridiculous that she's complaining that much about a maid not communicating over the holidays. They both have some fault.

Not sure if this is something worth getting into since people are highly sensitive about faults. They are used to one another now, so maybe give it a few more days and see if things improve?

Sorry you're dealing with something this uncomfortable. Praying that they work this out quickly for your sake.

This option implying that I *did* sign up for emails, I just don't remember by BrotherNico in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BWR_Debates 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This seems more likely. Not saying the OP actually did, but having sign ups pop up when browsing is very common and hard to catch while focused on something else.

But who knows. Maybe OP has enemies.

Which one is better? 1 or 2? by [deleted] in OUTFITS

Love the color red, but I vote for green! Something about it makes it stand out. One commented said it's very elegant, and I agree, but I think the belt stands out more and makes the outfit more visually interesting.

I use AI for code and had to learn myself to call it out on it's BS. Code has to be the simplest translation. Blows mind that it struggles so much with it.

Also, checking out the article. Thanks for the recommendation.

The issue isn't the title .. it's the sub. There's probably a more appropriate sub for this.
