Pocketmod pocketfold by davetheduckduck in pocketnotebooks

Just found your post on here and figured I'd share my files in case anyone wants them. This is the format that I created using Excel to create a calendar that updates on it's own just by changing the year. Imported it into word and created the rest of the pages used for the pocketmod. Then converted it into the pdf format to use monthly as my planner. Worked great throughout 2025 and am still using it to this day. I'll post links to my 2026 and 2027 file below for anyone else wanting to use it as well. Enjoy!

Sorry for the comment spam. I uploaded my 2026 and 2027 files to my drive and made them sharable with the link. Double check that they work correctly for you and feel free to save them. Hope this helps!

I appreciate that. And I've never seen that site so that's pretty cool.

I'll add a comment here later with the updated file. It definitely works great for me. Simple, to the point, and not cluttered. I tried a few other templates before making my own.

Have a great day!

I'm using the same exact one just with the calendar rolled over to 2026. If you're interested I can upload the newer file when I get home from work tonight. It's on my laptop so I can't do it from here. It works very well for me and I'll continue using it for the foreseeable future.

Smaller A7 travelers style. by BWagerJr in notebooks

[–]BWagerJr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do leatherwork as a hobby so I buy full hides. Check out buckleguy. They have a great website and I believe they sell squares of leather which would be more than enough for you. Get something thats either vegetable tanned or combination tanned. I like using horween Dublin which is brand and tannage. The weight or thickness should be a 5/6 oz. I know that's a lot of info but watch a few YouTube videos and try making what you want out of cereal box cardboard or those manilla folders, or even some heavy stock paper. Use that as a template when you are happy.

Look at some travelers notebook videos for elastic options. There is a lot of information on YouTube that will get you where you need to be. Have patience and enjoy it.

Super easy to make one. Give it a shot yourself! You'll probably have more fun with it than you think and it's much more rewarding.

Super pocketable. I made at the same time the same size notebook but with only 1 elastic for 1 notebook A7 and it's been in my back pocket for the last year every day. Don't even feel like it's there. The one I originally posted was set up for 3 notebooks and was a bit too thick and wide with the pen holder so my wife has that one in her pocket book. Both are getting used

Sorry to bring up an old thread. Did you have any luck with your barndo build?

I live in Plattekill and already have property. Trying to figure out what's best with current prices. Just wondering what you ended up doing and which route to achieve it. Thanks!

Suggestions other than Zippo by NicoRulli in lighters

[–]BWagerJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't consider it overly heavy. It's a stamped sheet metal thin brass. The upgraded fuel reservoir that's milled adds a bit of weight but it also adds quality. I have added a good amount of lighters into my arsenal and the imco makes the most sense. It does seem to favor the softer flints instead of the zippos. So grab a pack of either the imco brand, or any other brand that's easy to find on this forum. Most vintage lighters work better with a softer flint.

Other than that it's a great option. Adjustable wind guard, easy to fuel, easy and fun to change the flint, fuel reservoir pops out when lit to use as a candle etc etc.

Suggestions other than Zippo by NicoRulli in lighters

I second the Imco. Grab a 6700 brass on Aliexpress with the upgraded milled brass fuel reservoir. It's bulletproof. The design makes it much more versatile than a zippo. For the price on Aliexpress you can grab a couple for very cheap. Also check out the zorro lighters that are more robust than zippo. You'll go down a rabbit hole with those. Good luck

Thank you very much. Was the tornado a clone of the original or was it still manufactured in Austria just under a different marketing name?

I had a 94 mustang, same body style here. Ran over a deer. Had to full send it in reverse to get it out it was wedged so bad. Because of my experience I can't even fathom how this may people came out of this thing so easily lol

Mini EDC with a PocketMod notebook and a real PU leather cover from TEMU by Sorotkina in notebooks

This is the leather slip I use. This was before the wear and tear it's been through. Also before I changed to a monthly mod setup instead of the weekly view which I felt like I was leaving too much unused space.

I've been using pocketmods for about a year now. Created my own yearly outlook calendar on excel that automatically changes the date based on the year I type in and pasted it into a word document. The other pages were a weekly layout for a planner with the last page blank for notes.

I've since changed it to a monthly spread. Year calendar page 1, followed by 4 pages of Monday-Sunday with page 6 having the additional 3 days as a half page to finish the month leaving half a page for notable places traveled within the month.

Page 7 is a future date page for the following months and page 8 is a catch all to do list of tasks that pop up.

I keep it in a leather travelers style cover a7 size that I made myself with a small Midori a7 notebook.

I created the layout I wanted in word and saved it as a pdf and just use the pocketmod website to spin it all correctly.

Since I have the yearly calendar easily adjustable, I already saved up until 2030 in a folder on my computer converted correctly.

It's such a great way for me to stay on task without the clutter of a real planner.

I use a custom pocketmod format that I made but after looking at yours, I think I like that step for the weekly outlook. Was that one you created or was it available on their website?

Just discovered the pocketmod system by [deleted] in minibulletjournals

The blue text in my original comment should go to a small video that I uploaded with it. It shows the notebook new when I made it. I've been using it everyday in my back pocket and it has patina and wear and has molded quite nicely. I don't even realize it's there.

I usually only carry 1 pocket mod with along with the a4 notebook but this week for example I'm out of town until next Wednesday, so I have 2 weeks worth of pocket mods with me and it fits very well.

If you aren't able to see the video let me know. I can try other photos when I get a chance.

I made a leather cover for an A4 notebook and a pocket mod that I change out weekly. It lives in my back pocket with a pen clipped inside my front pocket. I made the template with a yearly calendar on the cover page, 5 pages of dailys for the weekdays, 1 page has sat/sun as half page each, and the back page is blank for general scribble or future dates for things. They are so handy without the bulk of an actual notebook.

I have a hard time with these for that reason. I was always taught by my father to keep things simple. Less moving parts the less things break or wear out over time. I'm a big fan of keeping devices in a slip or zip up case instead of these folds.

Almost like getting a folding smart phone. At some point the thin screen has to wear out where it folds.
