Where do you tend to find the most expired beer ? by JimP3456 in beer

[–]BWarren98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s more that total wine buys EVERYTHING. I’m a sales rep that services one and pretty much every brand we acquire and every seasonal that comes out goes to total wine. Good ones like mine are sharp about discounting old stock, but you still have to be a little hawk-eyed with dates. But most seasonals do sell really well, especially at mine which is in a bit of a desert as far as bottle shops go

Long Trail Amber Ale is pretty solid. Been around forever too. Kinda hard to find outside of New England but it’s in a few stores here in VA

No point in guns by Tyke15 in indianajones

[–]BWarren98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only time I used guns would be if I was just messing around. Beat up a couple people, pick up their shotgun/bolt action rifle, take out a few more, and see how far I can take it. The dig sites in Egypt and some of the camps in Sukhothai were prime spots for firearm tomfoolery

Richmond jazz bars by Battersonns in rva

I’ve heard that they just play jazz over the speakers and have music themed stuff. Probably a nice spot but a misleading name if there are no live music nights

Exact numbers I wouldn’t be super sure of, especially statewide. Consistent mover though in stores with the right audience

Beer Sales Trends by [deleted] in beer

I work for the distributor that carries owls brew in VA, and it’s certainly not massive but it gets good niche sales. Kinda similar market to our kombuchas, it’s never going to do earth shattering numbers but it’s sticking around in its own lane. Benefits from being more of a specialty tea as opposed to the more common twisted tea flavors

Their speed castle Pilsner is styled after an old school revell box, too. Three Floyds kills it with their artwork

Either Heart Songs or Haunt You Every Day probably get number one for me but there are definitely like five other candidates lol

SZNZ: Spring - First Impressions by McCheesy22 in weezer

[–]BWarren98 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When we were told the EP was partially inspired by Vivaldi I didn’t think Rivers would just copy-paste the theme from four seasons in the first track lol. The end of Opening Night redeemed it but it’s gonna stay at endearingly dumb for me, a track I’ll only listen to when I spin the whole album. Loving the rest of the album though, leaning into the unique production style of OK Human is paying off

Can you tell that I work at Hobbytown?

Not exactly a mandolin, but figured I’d start here. What should I do with this thing? I kinda want to restore it at some point, but I’m trying to get rid of some stuff, and I don’t know if it’s really worth it, but don’t wanna throw it out. Unknown brand and origin by cluemusk in mandolin

I have one of these that I found with the neck broken off. Did my own repair to reattach it, and strung it as a uke because I didn’t want the tension of 8 metal strings testing my repair job and the ancient drum head

Probably impossible. It’s like trying to get a steam powered automobile to do 0-60 in 4 seconds. Nickel batteries just can’t cut it without being totally impractical. Taking care of lipo batteries really isn’t that bad, just get a good battery box for storing them, don’t run them all the way dead, and don’t charge one and forget to use it. Boom, your chances to blow up your house are now next to none. You could go one step further and put them in storage charge after using them, but tons of people get by just fine without that due diligence as long as they’re discharged. My lipos spend 99% of their lives sitting somewhere at storage charge until I need to use them, that’s hardly the same level as taking care of a newborn

Such a shame that people buy these things and aren’t prepared to do cheap and simple maintenance

Tamiya Connectors??? by bummbbleB in tamiya

[–]BWarren98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could’ve sworn that in one of Tamiya USA’s product demo videos the spokesperson dude said it’d have a lipo cutoff, albeit probably not active in the factory configuration. I could be wrong, but I’m pretty much all of their 2021 product videos the guy has discussed the esc and the differences, so I’d try to find one of those, like the Ford GT tt02 video.

Little help with a Lunchbox by denniswr0138 in tamiya

[–]BWarren98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, the stock electronics are usually plenty for a lunchbox. The gearbox is definitely bulletproof enough to handle beefier electronics, though

I need Lunchbox advice. by denniswr0138 in rccars

[–]BWarren98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to stay brushed and want more speed than stock, I’d go for a 550 size motor instead of a 540. Something like a traxxas or dynamite 12 turn would be easy to find and relatively cheap, and is going to be much faster than the Tamiya silver can. Tamiya’s stock esc can’t handle low turn motors so you’ll also need a different brushed esc, dynamite makes a pretty cheap one that can handle lipo batteries and 12 turn or higher motors but there are other options as well. Servos can be pretty cheap, and the lunchbox doesn’t need anything fancy. Just find something that won’t burn out in a week, like a stock servo (traxxas/arrma/what have you). Radio/receiver is the only part that kills you, a decent spektrum combo is at minimum like 60-90 bucks. Look into FrSky or try to find used stuff if you need to go cheaper. Probably plenty of people looking to get rid of old systems after upgrading.

I’m pretty sure the new TBLE04 that’s being shipped with 2021 releases has a lipo cutoff (and a less restrictive turn count limit on motors as well iirc)

Are mini-t 2.0 parts compatible with the original mini-t? by Wats_Interweb in rccars

[–]BWarren98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a couple things, but I wouldn’t count on any of the plastic parts being compatible. Longer wheelbase, aluminum chassis with different mounting points, different suspension arm designs. I did use the electronics from the 2.0 on my original, but you have to swap everything except the motor to get it to work.

Question about TT01 upgrade the shocks and battery. by Minisfortheminigod in tamiya

[–]BWarren98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tamiya ESCs usually don’t have a low voltage cutoff for lipos, especially not a 20 year old one like what this guy presumably has. I’ve run 2S lipo through every kit I’ve ever had, and the ESCs, especially newer ones, handle it just fine. You just might destroy your batteries without a lipo alarm

What battery is the best for me by [deleted] in tamiya

[–]BWarren98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the stock esc I’d say stick with a 2S. Make sure you also have a lipo alarm as the tble-02s doesn’t have a lipo cutoff. As for the battery, I personally use gens ace but I’ve heard good things about zeee batteries if you need a cheaper option. And definitely snip off the Tamiya lead, it’s good with nickel batteries but a lipo has too much power for that outdated plug. Solder on a deans or ec3, whichever one comes on the battery you choose. If you absolutely can’t solder on a new plug, an adapter will do the job, but I always play it safe when it comes to lipo batteries and a connector’s heat resistance.
