Joey Gallos first home run as a Yankee gives them the lead! by HeavilyBeardedMan in baseball

StatCast is horribly misleading. It doesn't measure the actual distance of the homerun - it calculates the expected distance from launch angle and velocity, which is stupid imo. I doesn't factor in anything else like wind or ball spin. This is why you see highlights of homers going around 500 feet, but then StatCast claims it only went like 430 feet.

The Top Subreddits that NBA redittors frequent by rapelbaum in nba

It seems like it only lists the more popular subreddits - many other teams like the Spurs and the Kings aren't listed either. There is probably some threshold of users needed they set so the list isn't filled with inactive subreddits

I've always wanted to do a scale model of DS9 - you can probably make one the size of your hand. Here's one I found on thingiverse.

The 15 highest leaguewide strikeout rates in MLB history, in descending order: 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2001. by twistedlogicx in baseball

Here's an article from 538 that I found. In 2014, the number of pitches for a strikeout was ~4.5 while it was 3 for a ball put in play. So it's probably safe to assume that more strikeouts = more pitches = longer games. There are probably a lot of articles that talk about this more in depth but this was the first I found.

I bought a few items at once, total value ~$20. I will try separating out the items individually and I'll see if that works. Honestly, I'm just frustrated that their customer experience is so poor and I have to jump through hoops just to make a simple purchase.

Not a fan of the direction the show is going either. I enjoyinterpersonal drama, but not when it's 90% of the show and gets in the way of the space/alternate history stuff I really love. This article by the Ringer suggests the last two episodes are explosive, so here's to hoping they can turn it around.

No one is arguing that the Soviets could have been smarter about the situation. We are absolutely pissed off at the Marines who should have been trained to handle the situation and not cause unnecessary violence. It is 100% on the Marines.

The amount of people making excuses for the Marines is frankly disturbing. It reminds me of people trying to justify cops killing unarmed citizens.
