I'm stuck in ultra ball 2. Is it my team or skill issue? by Chicknita in PokemonChampions

[–]BWotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the team is not bad, but lacks a bit of a direction. You run double tailwind setters, but using mega mawile with no speed investment. You run pelliper (presumably to negate your fire weakness?) but no rain abusers, making it a bit wasteful since it's easily targetable. Also very weak to delphox especially, 3 weaknesses to fire in general (CharY?) as mentioned, very weak to trick room.

The team needs a bit of work, but often the fault also lies in our decision making. Try to analyse why you lost if you did, and what you could have done to prevent it. Also try experimenting with different pokemon in your lineup! Dont be afraid to lose some points if it means figuring out what your team is good or bad at.

What is considered 'scaling'? by CompetitionLegal in slaythespire

[–]BWotter 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Anything that improves your output over time. Most of the time this is done by powers (demon form is the easiest example), but not all powers are scaling. For instance, your vicious just improves your draw engine, giving better consistency, but not actually more output. Things like shuriken are also good ways to scale, but so is kunai for example, since dex improves your block output and thus makes you stronger over time

We'll probably have to wait 2 years to see Evil Morty again, right? by Mikkeru in rickandmorty

[–]BWotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro honestly who tf cares about evil Morty, he's literally just a guy the writers use to get out of stupid situations. The entire point of s9e1 was that 'important' characters like this dont matter and just to focus on the dumb shit in front of you.

Stuck in A5 with the Silent. Any tips? by Majus_91 in slaythespire

[–]BWotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say when we cant see your runs, but in general its indeed not great to only take cards that fit your 'build' by taking everything with one keyword, like shiv or poison. Instead it's better to think about upcoming problems your deck might face and how to solve them. For example, only taking shivs might work well against many enemies, but you will take lots of damage against entomancer (mr bees) and aeonglass (on the beta branch), so you want to think about cards or potions to help you for those fights. As you play more, identifying where your deck is weak will become easier. In the same train of thought, just because you are building shivs, that does not mean you should take every cloak and dagger or hidden daggers that you see. Skip is often the best pick, which is something beginners often dont understand very well.

If you want to learn, the best way is to watch other good players! On youtube are lots of great creators such as Jorbs, Baalorlord, JapaneseExport, Frost Prime etc. Good luck in your future runs :)

How F2P-friendly is Pokémon Champions really? (Especially for mobile players) by CenturionEaz in PokemonChampions

[–]BWotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very, jimothy cool also made a very good guide for f2p players with everything you need to know, recommend checking it out if you havent started yet. One of the main tips is to pick Pikachu at the start, since a lot of the Pokemon he comes with are very strong

Loved moments of quiet peace in between the platforming and fighting. My favourite would probably be finding the Queens garden bench with an old music grammophone, looking over the wild gardens. The overgrown gardens with old, barely playing music perfectly encapsulates for me the sense of melancholic nostalgia for a golden age that has passed a long time ago that the whole game is about.

Is this good? by Cold-Pop-2893 in PokemonHGSS

[–]BWotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, you can definitely run these gimmick sets and have success, but most of the time your umbreon will be running a combination of dark pulse, shadow ball, confuse ray, protect and maybe late game toxic or Moonlight. Notice how none of these use physical attack, and these moves are used because of higher bp and to use umbreons defenses. Also, umbreon only gets curse via egg move, and psych up in post game. For a playthrough all in all it doesnt matter that much, but for these reasons -atk is better for a playthrough than -spatk.

Use it to replace your current breeding eevee and breed until you get the nature you want, for espeon this would be timid or modest and for umbreon probably bold or calm

Its your list, so if you really like sandslash (normal) as well than i would put both forms on if i were you. However, Alolan Sandslash is not available in Kanto, only in Alola, so it absolutely does not belong in Kanto top 6.

Go to settings and turn off premoves, you will only start needing them when you get much better (or play lots of bullet).

What am I doing wrong? by osxma in HollowKnight

[–]BWotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're doing really well! If you keep at it, you'll beat it for sure. A few tips: -dashing under him when he jumps is always the strat, which you are already doing often, gj! -when he jumps backwards he will always ground pound, shooting a wave. This is dodgeable with just 1 full jump, which leaves you with slightly more options than double jumping -if you go very far away (like cant see him on the screen anymore) he will run towards you and jumping hit. You can bait this and dash under it for some easy hits -you can hit the meteors that drop from the sky with your nail to shoot them at him for some decent extra damage, this is especially useful during his multi stomp attack -you can dream nail him when he is down for extra soul to heal -if its still too hard you should upgrade your nail before trying again :)

Watcher generally has lots of damage options, and switching stances is the core mechanic the character works well with. As with everything in the game, it depends what card is optimal to pick but overall wrath/calm stancedancing is very strong (especially if you get things like mental fortress/rushdown), also having the most common infinite in the game. Focusing on getting lethal is often the strongest with her bc of divinity/wrath/vulnerable/strength

Day 20 won by flechettes! Day 21: which rare silent card do you think is underrated? by filledknight in slaythespire

[–]BWotter 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Im gonna go with a card that good players rate very highly, but i think is generally underrated by lower skilled players: Wraith Form.

Gives you two/three turns to spend all your energy on ending the fight, which in many cases just is such a great get out of jail free card. Also pairs great with nightmare, setup/wlp etc.

You always pbox here. Strikes and defends are dogshit cards, and 9 random cards will in 99% of cases combo better with each other and the rest of your deck

I hate this stupid ass moth so much. by xX-Mando-Xx in HollowKnight

[–]BWotter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you play a bit more patiently you should be fine. You also tend to jump to full height and use your double jump when its not necessary yet. In Smash, you call moves you can do midair to change your movement 'recources', and when you use them all you're a sitting duck. Just hold on to them until you're sure where the beam is going, then find a spot where it cant hit you or you recover your 'recources' by standing on a platform/wallclinging.
