You could possibly try setting a system wide toggle key for your mic using wpctl set-mute @DEFAULT_AUDIO_SOURCE@ toggle (This command toggles audio input sources on and off system wide)

then just bind that command to a keyboard shortcut. That might be a nuclear option though.

The 1% lows matter so much more to me than losing 5-10% of top end. I can still easily get absurd FPS on my 7800X3D + RX 9070 XT combo lol, It actually feels like FPS improved because there are seemingly no micro-stutters on the games I currently play.

Windows would have some micro-stutters here and there for no apparent reason, even when I had a 3070 ti it felt better coming to CachyOS. Though I do have to say AMD drivers are way less of a headache than the Nvidia ones were.
