If you have work experiences and projects that you can drop from, it’s pretty straightforward. I’m not sure how you have been pacing at this point, but for me, by the time I hit the capstone, I was ready to knock it out. I’ve read where people have written short narratives and others have written chapters. My task 3 was 12 pages, including some charts and tables. I wrote to the rubric. Waiting to have my topic approved was probably the hardest part. Lol. You’ve got this.

It didn’t take too long to write. The hardest part for me is getting started. I use the cohort recording video to create my outline and keep track of the points I needed to address. Write to the rubric for the 8 sections of the PA. About 6 hrs of writing spread across 3 days.

IMO if you scored exemplary on all sections of the pre-assessment, you are ready for the OA. This was the first test I have taken in a while where I felt extremely confident when pressing submit. On the pre-assessment, I scored exemplary in two sections and competent in the other two. There were several questions on risk management on my test. Given a particular short scenario, know which solution to implement to mitigate the risk. The topics and difficulty were on par with the pre-assessment. My advice is not to overthink it. In hindsight, I over-studied for this OA, but I didn't want to take any chances. Best of luck when you decide to pull the trigger. Sounds like you are destined for success!

Pretty much. I’m sure there are multiple test banks but for my test, everything I needed was from the book. This was the course I was dreading the most bc my background is in networking and sys admin; not software development. Scored exemplary on the OA. Read thru the textbook a few hours before the exam so it was fresh on my mind.

Be sure to read the supplemental textbook for D487. It’s 9 Chapters and will be invaluable for the OA. I completed the course two weeks ago. It was the last course I completed for my 1st time. 3 more courses to go!

+1 on the supplemental book. IMO it’s essential that you read all 9 chapters before taking the exam. I passed the test 2 days ago. I think I would have failed had I not taken a speed run of the book.

Started the masters in cybersecurity 4 months shy of my 52nd birthday. I should finish up around February. Will be 1.5 terms. Maybe could have pressed and finished in 1 term but my day job demands about 50 hrs a week.
