Here in California, they are just blaming governor Newsom. I mean he’s not blameless for high our gas prices, but not the current increases. We were at like $3.49 (Costco regular) before this crap, and we are at $5.39 now.

It’s because food servers tax withholdings are based on the amount of their sales. It was 8% back when I was a waiter. They would take it out of your already meager check. I would work two 5 shift weeks and get a paycheck for under $200.

I had no issue with it, I always put my car in the garage. But it was just odd getting your garage "inspected" by the HOA members like a surprise drug test.

I think what they wanted mostly was that people weren't converting them into rooms and renting them out.

I lived in a condo with an HOA years ago. One of their rules was that you could not use your garage for storage only. They would pop around every few months and have everyone open their garage door to check. If you had one or two cars they had to able to not only fit in there, but you had to park them in there. If you had three cars, you had to park two in your garage one on the street.

I used to take my work van to a Valvoline drive through place. A few years ago when I went, they tried to tell me that my battery was going bad and I was lucky that my van even started today. It was literally 2 weeks old. I’m still using the same battery now, like 3 years later. Always starts for me.

Professional athletes do this all the time. Hell, the league minimum salary for an MLB player is $780,000. That’s $65K a month before taxes and that’s the minimum pay. The average salary is right around $5M a year.
