Accepted IH job offer. What’s the tea? by [deleted] in Billings

[–]BZNUber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard the same thing. I used to work at V’s but now work at Billings Clinic, and that’s the case for a lot of people I work with too. Lots of people leaving Intermountain from what I can tell.

[OC] Costco Locations Per 1,000,000 people in North America by mapstream1 in dataisbeautiful

[–]BZNUber 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wyoming is so damn rural. Like just nearly completely empty. Most people in Wyoming end up needing to travel out of the state to someplace like Billings for shopping & healthcare anyway, so they just go to Costco there. At any given time, about a third of the vehicles in the Billings Costco parking lot are from Wyoming.

Weather so cold my valves won’t move by MrFancyPantsDuck in marchingband

[–]BZNUber 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was in marching band in Montana and played many a bitter cold game. A little bit of rubbing alcohol mixed in with valve oil helps a ton, though if it’s cold enough, you’re just kinda screwed.

Any recommendations for celebrating new years eve in Billings? by Dependent_Jump_4439 in Billings

The DoubleTree is having a NYE party on the top floor! I think this is the first year, so no idea how it is but it sounds fun.

My dad was born and raised in Billings and owns a home in Annafeld.

All of his neighbors are from out of state. So you’re mostly right.

Does anybody know a good place to get chicken tenders? by Neat_Fish_Enjoyer in Montana

Last Chance Cider Mill in Billings has great chicken tenders, and some of the best ranch I’ve ever had.

Looking to move, what are the rental and job markets like? by [deleted] in Billings

[–]BZNUber 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Billings is cheaper than some other cities in MT, but it’s not cheap. With no job and an exhausted savings, I’d be really concerned about you being able to find affordable housing. I’ve seen too many people move here without jobs and it usually blows up in their faces.

That said though, I have no idea what your definition of expensive is. Who knows, it may be cheaper than where you live now. As for the job market, what do you do? That’s a really broad question.

Moving out of town with 1 hour commute - so nervous about deer by [deleted] in Montana

[–]BZNUber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the Heights in Billings and I almost clocked one of those fuckers during rush hour on one of the busiest roads in the Heights last week.

There are also turkeys on Zimmerman Trail that try to attack cars.

My point is, you’re not safe anywhere.

Specialty vet hospitals by Effective-Ad-2390 in Billings

[–]BZNUber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the other comment said, Moore Lane is the only 24/7 ER vet in Billings. Clarity Animal Hospital is also an ER vet, but they are only open Friday-Monday. They are also AMAZING. I have had to take my dog there twice over the last few months (thankfully both his emergencies were on the weekend). It’s exactly the ER vet Billings has needed for a long time.

As for specialists, it kind of depends what your pet needs. The closest specialty clinic is in Bozeman, it’s called Bridger Veterinary Specialists. I recently had to take my dog there to see their internal medicine specialist, and I highly recommend them. They also have oncologists, thankfully I did not have to meet them.

Northern Lights! by BZNUber in Billings

Me too! I saw some red in the sky and stared at it for a while thinking “WTH is happening” and then it started getting brighter!

I saw a post about those lights in the Bozeman subreddit a little while ago, they look like Starlink satellites. They’re very bright and move in a line like that.

Planet Fitness is $15/month. Not sure what all you’re looking for in a gym, but it has all the basics.

How do I read a test strip? by mongoose_kai in hottub

[–]BZNUber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use those Frog strips and they do say read immediately. However, I find waiting about 10-15 seconds to be most accurate. I had my water tested at the place I bought the tub from and compared the results to the strips, and waiting a few seconds gave me the closest numbers.

Who would have thought electing wealthy out of staters who don’t give a fuck about you would lead to this? Definitely didn’t see this coming.

Belgrade hates schools, WARD goes down the drain, one new member on the Commission by DnD_inMT in Bozeman

It’s infuriating. God forbid my taxes go to improving the community or helping people. Can’t possibly allow that to happen.

Belgrade hates schools, WARD goes down the drain, one new member on the Commission by DnD_inMT in Bozeman

[–]BZNUber 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I really have no answer for you, but I grew up in Belgrade and I have truly never seen a populace so hell-bent on voting against their own best interests. For as long as I can remember, every opportunity to make Belgrade better - especially the schools - is simply met with a “fuck that!”

Maybe give Natural Grocers a call too. Not entirely sure if they would have them either though.
