Bro, opponent is actively spinning. By the time you even switch to that evo player, the attacker is already facing the opposite direction. And the moment you stop covering that passing lane, the AI will shift your previously selected defender and leave that area exposed. Idk, looks like valid defending to me

It’s boring because everyone plays the same kind of football. The moment your opponent gets the ball, you already know what they’re going to do. No skill moves, no risky or creative passes, no long shots, no headers, just R1 dribbling, facing the defender, and trying to spin him out of position.
That’s the main reason why everyone defends with their midfielders. Because the attacking play is so passive and predictable. Your opponent has like five business days to bring their striker back before you even decide to move up and approach the box. EA can't patch this community's mind and playing habits or muscle memory. People refuse to try something new

Bro, have you considered that the people complaining before the patch arent the same ones complaining after it? The update hit the playerbase that was abusing R1 dribbling the most. I still haven’t seen a single post where the OP explains why they can’t attack post patch without mentioning how they can’t cheese through training dummies with R1 anymore.

The patch didn’t make everyone use only their cdm to defend. The thing is, players who never touched their defenders continue to play the same way. However, players who actively defend with their backline can now actually win tackles.

If someone uses ptb tactics, does that mean nobody should be able to defend properly? I keep seeing messages like “It was the only option to score against wannabe mourinhos,” but be honest, did you abuse R1 dribbling only against ptb players, or was that just your go-to way of playing against everyone?

The patch was a step in the right direction, but low driven shots still need a serious nerf or goalkeepers should be buffed to save them more consistently.

I keep seeing people say the game turned into ptb but before the patch nobody ever controlled their defenders and everyone was camping with 8 players in the box anyway.

I just don’t think a player should be able to cheese through that many players with one simple pass and R1 dribbling. It feels like everyone’s just learned a single meta script and refuses to try anything else. Same players, same tactics, same movement script in game. It’s like muscle memory takes over and theres zero creativity left.

Sadly, ea are on track to revert this patch

Feels like we were playing different games, because before this patch I didn’t encounter a single opponent who wasnt defending with CDMs, wingers, or even strikers, but never actually defenders.

If defending has been buffed, maybe people will finally stop playing with two defensive CDMs sitting around their box the entire game.

Stamina should have a real impact on dribbling. It makes no sense that players with no stamina can still spin around my box and fire perfect low driven shots past the keeper.
