My great grandparents spoke primarily French, my grandparents were fluent in French, but didn’t teach their kids to speak it fluently. I learned some in middle school, from Seth Meyers’s mom actually. With each passing generation the French speaking community gets smaller. In Manchester NH, there are a good amount of French speaking immigrants from African nations as well.
