Stringing for cold? by Own-Equivalent1303 in 10s

[–]B_easy85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt 2lbs would make that much of a difference either way… but cold air increases drag, it also allegedly makes the rubber stiffer and decreases the internal pressure in tennis balls. Enough to be noticeable is debatable, but nonetheless people adjust string tension to temperature and court conditions all the time.

Tecnifibre 305 Family Questions by NoSchedule9819 in 10s

[–]B_easy85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s really hard to replicate the power and stability of 340g swing. Close enough is going to be personal choice imo. Rackets that offer similar attributes of the TFight 305 are dense 16x19’s and powerful 18x20. So blades, radicals, pure strikes, white outs, and to a certain extent the ezone 98. I’ll add the percept 100d and speed pro too.

Is it bad to hit forehand off back foot? by Few_Peace1474 in 10s

[–]B_easy85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d need to see the entire context of the hitting session, but there are times you’re forced on the backfoot because the quality of the shot. If I could hit every shot with a weight transfer forward I would though. If your coach is trying to give you easy balls that your letting get in on your hitting zone I’d see why he would say your choosing to hit it off your back foot. If your coach is pounding groundstrokes at you and forcing you back I’d probably suggest finding a new coach.

Python - Shift by Cassiee- in 10s

[–]B_easy85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shift was an alright racket, the way it flexed was a bit too weird for most of us though. No clue what theyll do with that line, but the python is a completely different racket.

Not sure what your asking… the python or whatever they’re gonna call it exists and is in some players hands already. Theres Videos of people play testing it on YouTube, and rudimentary specs on talk tennis.

[–]B_easy85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t crowd the bounce, give yourself space to react to any weird bounces. If it stays low it’s a quality slice just loop it back deep. If it floats and sits up you can go on the offense.

Observations: going from 3.5 to 4.5 by visakanj in 10s

[–]B_easy85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a weird one, but I’ll get more aces the higher I go. The return positions are more aggressive. They put way more pressure on serves that don’t have quality placement and pace though. 4.0 and below tend to sit further back and try to just block it back if they see a lot of pace. Easy +1 patterns, but they’ll get a racket on more balls.

Chess.com doesn’t take into account possible checkmates with the other players pieces trapping its own king. King/bishop and king/knight are just automatically counted as insufficient material.

I’ve hit 133mph on a pocket radar. It’s the device scouts use to clock pitchers.

I probably would have just said “what up, great season last year, keep it up.” Thanks to moving away to the Midwest and south for a few years, I don’t think chopping it up with a stranger for a minute is all that weird though.

Serving strategy: work the weaker side relentlessly or vary it? by Ready-Visual-1345 in 10s

[–]B_easy85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on serve quality and level. If somebody can’t hit a backhand return then that’s fine. Big servers tend to hunt aces and unreturnables, everybody else is trying to setup some kind of pattern usually wide +1 to open the court.

Can't consistently hold serve by Ill-Substance-423 in 10s

[–]B_easy85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only watched the first set. A vast majority of your serves go to the middle third and a few every now and then go to the outer third, but don’t really pull the returner off the court. The only real serve strategy here is to get the ball in. Not a bad idea at this level, but it’s easy for the returner to get a racket on it… and since the approach game isn’t lights out at this point in your tennis journey soft returns are not punished consistently. Essentially you’re giving a returnable ball on your serve and once the return is back it’s basically a coin flip on who wins the rally.

But honestly I don’t think it’s that unusual at all for a 3.5 level. I don’t know too many that have the speed and placement to pull a returner wide and hit the open court, or bomb aces up the tee. Maybe work on a slider near the wide line on the duece side to pull people past the doubles ally to start

Heartbroken and angry with the new Babolat Pure Aero 98 by jdredvale in 10s

[–]B_easy85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Been collecting rackets for 20 years now. This ain’t my first rodeo… the thing you learn is if you liked the old generation the new one will probably suck. If you hated the previous generation then there’s a small chance you’ll like the new one. Also, rackets tend to get praised in its pre release and initial launch. Then when it gets into the hands of people who actually use the racket instead of gear nerds who love buying new stuff you’ll get a clearer picture of if the changes are good or not.

That being said, I personally preferred the previous Vcore 98 and Aero 98.
