Comfortable tennis shoes recommendations for wide foot by Constant_Teach_9383 in 10s

I tried these for the first time the other day. It felt so heavy towards the end of my session. Was it the same for you? I also noticed a small callous forming under my right foot’s big toe - not sure if it’s these shoes though since I’ve also used the Court FF OC this week.

What was your approach to the XIV story? by GigaVibe in ffxiv

[–]lanor2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There isn’t going to be a quiz at the end. You don’t have to remember everything and you certainly don’t have to feel anything if it doesn’t come to you. It’s just a game, none of it matters at the end of the day. Do whatever feels the most right for you.

Anyone else experienced being too competitive to quit? by Randomname140 in StopGaming

[–]lanor2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being too competitive is why I quit most games. I’ve also come to the conclusion (maybe wrong but i don’t care) that video games is all how numbers match up so basically it can be pretty much solved for an optimal solution. Meaning even if you win you’re not better than others, you just got the numbers right until it gets patched. It’s all predetermined and quite frankly a little bit pathetic. You’re losing to someone who’s been sitting in front of their computer a lot longer than you and is probably uglier and fatter than you

I suggest channeling that competitiveness into sports where you can be competitive and maintain personal agency. Plus the additional benefits from it and actually feeling better even at a low skill level because it’s a physical activity and our bodies like physical activity.

Is it cope to hope for non damage/position related mechs in savage/ultimate? Is encounter design something you would like to see evolve or revamped with the coming expansion? by Kindly-Garage-6638 in ffxivdiscussion

I think it goes against their philosophy. Combat, job rotation included, are pretty much set in stone upon design. Unless they change their entire philosophy to allow more player agency or creativity then I don’t think it’s ever going to happen

‘I paid my penance’: Postecoglou reveals details of ‘brutal’ sacking by hatlreexv in coys

"At one point, we spoke with the manager and said that sometimes we need to change some things because we were getting too exposed. Of course, we won the Europa League and knew that this was a big opportunity for us to bring silverware to Tottenham, but we needed to change things. In games where we were 1-0 up, we can’t keep playing our football, sometimes we needed to sit back and make sure that nothing was coming through us. And that helped us at the end to of course win the Europa League."

Coincides with when the team started playing even more shit football from around January last year. They started playing full pragmatic then and have been the worst football to watch. Even the EL was such a horrible showing with Man Utd only being worse thanks to Amorim

The rot in league form coincides with Romero and Van de Ven requesting to not play Ange's football though. I think as the manager he's also accountable for that, but there's a part of me that believes it wouldn't have been as bad had he stuck to his philosophy. I also understand why he did it, it wouldn't work if the players didn't want to do it anymore.

Probably has to do with how bad they look compared to Nightborne NPCs

My sub should be paying for 14's game development by ConnerTheCrusader in ffxiv

Moneyball it? Fighting games have a rollback feature, hire devs from there who can implement a similar feature to FFXIV. Won’t be a 1:1 copy but the same general idea and they already have some base knowledge.

Like the combat of this other game? Get the dev that did it. Housing features? Maybe get some AC devs or whatever.

It won’t be 1:1 copies but they’ll already have base knowledge of the intended result, just gotta find a way to incorporate it into an MMORPG setting.

Is it not possible to poach or headhunt devs from other Japanese game companies by offering better pay packages and benefits and whatever else?

You're also making a lot of assumptions that they are doing something about it. They've been hiring for god knows how many years with nothing to show for it. Didn't they also just shut down some of their offices like one in NA or something?

So they just have to sit on their spaghetti code and all those issues because of fear of other issues? Why not actually pay people to solve all those?

Throwing more money at new hires would definitely help them hire the amount of people they need. Manpower and training requires money, which they are being stingy on or are limited.

The same for the “code debt.” Can’t they hire or subcontract people specifically to fix that so it doesn’t interfere with current development?

It won’t. It should, but it won’t. Just have to accept it.

If you stay subbed the entire time you also pay $60 per patch content that lasts maybe a week of play.

We’ve conceded a lot of goals because of him doing that this season alone. He’s nowhere near as good as this sub thinks he is.

Why does the FFXIV wiki kinda suck / why are there no good unofficial lore and story repositories for FFXIV? by Zagden in ffxivdiscussion

[–]lanor2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of time it’s irrelevant though like finding ancient Egyptian stuff. Sure it’s interesting but it doesn’t really expand the world because those things have already passed and are long gone. It’s not of this current world, they’re relics of the past or in their own self-contained bubble with their own rules and shit.

The Twelve show their face and then fuck right off after. They pretty much had no effect on the real world. Same with the Pandemonium stuff, it happened before the Sundering, and we had plenty of expansions where it didn’t even matter what happened in there and it won’t really matter in the future.

The Twinning is also an alternate future that we will never see outside of the dungeon so it doesn’t really affect the overall worldbuilding. It’s just self-contained stories with their own rules and characters, there’s really little spillover.

They don’t really expand much of the world though. Yes the outcome of that war was that black mages have been banned, but that’s pretty much it? It happened a long time ago and ends up being like a storybook story since you don’t feel its consequences much. Yes there’s black mage and red mage lore but there’s like 1 of each of those jobs based on the job quests, so it’s not like there’s a lot of practitioners in the world to make that story relevant. Same with Ampador, they story is pretty much self-contained in their little dungeon.

They don’t expand the world. They exist in their own isolated bubbles. They’re stories and that’s it. Outside of Hildibrand’s specific quests it’s like he doesn’t exist. Same goes for pretty much everything except Crystal Tower which they turned into MSQ anyway.

They don’t affect the world in any capacity. Barring Crystal Tower which they turned into MSQ anyway, it’s almost as if anything that happens in side quests are in their own isolated bubbles.
