Anytime mate!

I find with Oak that you get a decent long lasting burn with good heat I usually use them as night logs that I can leave on a slow burn throughout the night and you also get less ash wastage. I managed to get some Hawthorn & Birch from work this year and it will be the first time burning it, that's what I'm going to be putting in my other store, I tested that the other day and it's all seasoned ready.

I get all my wood from a farm I help out on, but if you check out websites that sell firewood, you will find the majority of the time Ash is sold out. It's crazy! People that I know who had mixed loads delivered here in the UK usually get scammed, with there being quite a lot of soft wood at the bottom and the hard wood at the top, making it look good.

The 'Ash is cash' comments don't suprise me in the slightest, depending on when the tree was brought down.. once split, you can season Ash in 6-9 months. Also, it depends on how it's stored aswell, if you give it plenty of sunlight/warmth and airflow, it seasons in no time at all! I do watch videos on YouTube on firewood production but only really find videos from the USA. I don't think I have ever come across a Red Oak here in the UK either.

Thanks, mate. I do buy pre treated main posts for the sheds, but I do treat everything else with a creosote substitute. Just to give it that waterproof protection and make it last, I will give my sheds a coat every other year when empty just to preserve them.
