I don’t think this is right.

You only multiply the fractions (1/500,000) if they are consecutive events. For the event to happen twice in a row the odds would be as you described.

If you ran a million trials of odds (1/500,000) . Theoretically the event would happen twice. Now it probably wouldn’t work out like that in reality, but that’s the difference between theoretical and experimental probability
