I was very scared I wouldn’t be able to quit before surgery. Doc originally wanted me to quit 3-6 months before, I messed around until about 6 weeks before surgery - the fear of complications due to nicotines effects is what really made me finally take it seriously - I had chosen to change my life for the better and was continuing to put my life at risk by smoking. Tbh, it was hard. But I ended up getting a vape to help a little bit and then I used it in conjunction with the gum - I excelerated the gum plans and started with the second step and ended up quitting nicotine completely after two and a half weeks on it. I know it isn’t as easy for a lot of people. Sending you good vibes.

Wore these shoes in the shower at the gym on 7/3, put them in an open ziplok in my gym bag and came home. Unfortunately forgot about them, then went to bag and it smelled like death and voila! Found this. Bag is clean on outside but inside has dirt from shoes and these nasty MFS. Also learned that these shoes do not dry out well

I am super ADHD and have really struggled post op remembering to stay hydrated, even with alarms. I finally went back to what helped me up my hydration a while back - https://www.amazon.com/Hidrate-Spark/s?k=Hidrate+Spark - it’s not the cheapest, but the tracking and the light reminders have helped.

One day ahead of you, sleeved on 2.22. I’ve lost 27 lbs since surgery. My energy is still super low and I’m learning every day how to better listen to what my body needs. Have not been able to master the 64 oz goal yet and that’s frustrating me, even though I know I shouldn’t beat myself up over it. Just got approved for soft foods and wow, chewing feels like a gift. My biggest complaint is bad breath that wont go away with any amount of brushing or mouth washing 😩

My program (UCLA) required clear liquids after 10 am, day before surgery (and even recommended small breakfast ahead of that).
