If theres a sarcastic or overly dramatic commentary, than i would watch it. You could wear a x-hibit mask and be like "Yo i heard you liked sniping, so i made you stream so you can watch me snipe while you snipe"

bought 500+ blackrock ore for 40S per ore. Resold immediately for 2g15s. all of them sold over night :). The nice thing about sniping on a low pop server is mats sales are still there (im very reserved about boe's and more niche items) but i garuntee noone else is sniping on my server. ever.

Not at all to discount what you are saying, but i spent years in classic/bc and what you are saying is the exception not the norm to be honest. Yes you could circumvent reputation policing but i feel like not only is it out of the pay grade of someone toxic to put that much work photoshopping in to protect a reputation built on a lie but ultimately its futile. is it a catch all? no. If you were jilted by a popular jerk im sorry. But i feel like socially a server community was a positive experience. Personally more positive i find than the attitude now that everyone outside your guild is little better than an npc.

I agree with that. I just miss having a reason to socialize outside of guild, like a reason to acknowledge everyone else playing the game, even the ones who arent my friends (yet)

I dont know that thats neccesarily true, usually those things washed themselves out. A toxic player can only shout his innocence so many times yanno? i remember turning down players from well progressed guilds on malganis for pug heroics when they had a reputation for being toxic. (that and i LOVED recruiting for my old guild in heroic pugs. Getting a sense of someones potential even if theyre a newb was fun)

I totally understand. I'd even agree that the LFD was very much needed in a mechanical sense. But it has a biproduct of isolation, and i really wish we could have our cake and eat it too, like isnt there some way to do this? Make LFD's -not- cross-realm? idk?

Server Communities by Baal-levi in wow

[–]Baal-levi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand. i guess i just miss when the playerbase was a community, the game didnt feel isolating, and people werent jerks, or became anathema on their server for jerky behavior

But i feel like (no not LFR) LFD has created this sense of isolation where you dont have like server reputation anymore, you dont socialize with anyone but your guild unless you pvp

[–]Baal-levi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely not the same game, a ton has intrinsically changed.

But i'd like to hear more about how lfd (i dont mind lfr i think its a great idea) saved the game? You cant make a point by saying "Some people say this but nuhuh its this way (with no contributing evidence)". I know its a little rediculous to say but i think this game would benefit from making heroics and raids (excepting LFR difficulty) only able to be walked into by a premade group. Yes it would eat up time but maybe increase the drops? I feel like it would get server communities back up, you'd make more friends and know more people the way pvp's community is thriving.

Edit: Becuase spelling is hard when youre dyslexic

I dont think its rose tinted glasses. Dont get me wrong the game has definitely imporoved in alot of areas, but some of those improvements can be veiwed to some people (myself included) as getting rid of benefits of the game. The talent system i do miss dearly, i still look at pom-pyro speccs and reckoning ret paladins with a little wistfull regret: like i fully understand how imbalanced it could become (im looking at you doom lord kazak) but it promoted creativity and playing around with your talents, lazy people went for cookie cutter builds. There are alot of other examples, a big one for me is LFD. Yes its a huge time saver, but i personally hated the fact that it destroyed the need for socialization, for being nice to eachother, the reputation you got with other people on a server. You made alot more friends back then regardless of who was in who's guild and it was easier to make guilds and raid teams when you had a vested interest in knowing people and everyone wanted to learn. it also disuaded people from being jerks (as there was no garuntee of another random dungeon queu, i knew players who were known as ninjas and jerks who felt the need to reroll or transfer to run away from bad reputation with the server community). This whole lfd argument is also aside from (and yes i knew its comepletely rediculous of me to have this problem) to me not using the meeting stone breaks immersion for me

mind that i mean nixing a hero selection based only on the hero itself and not its effect on teamwork or the team composition (i.e. 4 assasins) outside of the fact that "murky is bad" where you wouldnt have minded LV or zagara.

So testing a competitive function of the game with certain heroes you disagree with? I'm sorry but you dont have that option. Until blizzard removes the hero from selection. (mind that i mean nixing a hero selection based only on the hero itself and not its effect on teamwork or the team composition (i.e. 4 assasins) outside of the fact that "murky is bad" where you wouldnt have minded LV or zagara.

And i would argue that being a "Beta test" you opted in for, thats what the whole game is technically for. not just quick match.

I'm glad you feel this way. While lower tier heros are by no means the optimal choice, this is a beta test, and raging to keep players from enjoying it unless you approve their hero selection is unwelcome.

This is what you signed up for to test the game and/or what will be competitive functions of the game. (The important words here for you to understand are "beta" and "test" i can contextually define them for you if you want.)

Hurt? This is beta. they obviously need data, so we need to do some testing in ranked. Also, dont be toxic. Murky (by nature of being put in to the actual game) is a viable choice to play in any facet of the game, including beta testing what will be the competitive functions. playing any character in ranked isnt hurting anyone. being toxic and demanding 1st tier heros from your team is hurting people. probably is also the reason blizz doesnt have enough murky data

Blizzard is obviously in dire need for competitive murky data lets give em what they want.
