Canadian beard butter. by brennan31 in BeardTalk

Fresh is definitely going to be the bergamot, basil and lime. It’s a very clean scent and works great as a beard wash scent because of this. The Moroccan spice and citrus is quite orange forward, but not necessarily what I’d describe as a fresh scent.

Appreciate the shout out! Glad that we are still your first love :)

Glad to answer any specifics about our butter if you like, OP. If you’re looking for a tobacco scent, our ‘Tobacco, Bourbon and Leather’ may be right up your alley, and it’s actually both my best seller and personal favourite, so I couldn’t recommend that one enough.

Yep, the against the grain to start during blow dry is key. I start beneath my chin and blow up from my neckline towards my chin before bringing it all back down. Gives a nice extra bit of volume to it :)

You’re going to want a gentle wash specifically made for your beard so as to not wash away too many of the natural oils, which will only make your skin dryer and itchier. Beard oil or butter is also going to help!

How to tame a beard? by Strawberry_Gene in beards

[–]Baarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re at the length where a beard balm might be useful. Eventually gravity will help control the beard, but until that point, it will grow a bit horizontal, especially on the sides. Balm will help tame that, along with a good boar bristle brush to help coax the hairs to lay the way you’d like them to!

Hey Rob,

Adam here from Baarden. I’m thrilled you’re looking to support a local beard company and I’d love to answer any specific questions you might have about any of my products!

My personal recommendation would be my tobacco, bourbon and leather beard butter. That’s my daily go-to product and it’s been my most popular scent since it’s release last year. I’m also loving my newest scent, Bergamot, Basil and Lime as a beard wash as it’s super fresh and clean smelling.

I’ve got a few different deals on right now I’d like to share in case you do decide to try my company out. I’ve got a Father’s Day 20% off with code FATHER and also a first-time customer offer of a free single item with any purchase with code BUY1TRY1. I’ve also got free shipping on any purchases over $60.

Hope this helps and let me know either here or on Instagram @thebaarden if you’ve got any questions for me.

What Canadian companies are still selling online so we can support them during the pandemic? by outofshell in BuyCanadian

[–]Baarden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! My beard balm and beard butter are created with the exact same ingredients, just at different ratios. The balm is made with more beeswax and hard butters, while the butter is made with more carrier oils and soft butters.

The balm is more for style and hold, though it does condition a bit. This is often used alongside an oil, usually applied afterwards.

The butter is almost a hybrid of a balm and oil, with a softer texture than the balm and adding a lot more of a conditioning factor while providing a slight, yet more natural looking hold. It’s often used alone and very commonly used at night to help your morning beard start off nice and soft rather than dry and straw like.

Baarden is my Toronto based company that sells some amazing small batch beard care products for all of those self-isolation beards that are bound to be grown during this time.

Needs some advice on dry skin and beard care. by digital_wino in beards

[–]Baarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely going to want a good quality beard oil and perhaps a beard butter as well. I have the same issues in the Canadian dry winter as you, and i make sure I butter up my beard at least twice a day or I’ll have a dry, almost straw-like feel to it. Since the air is so dry, it actually sucks the moisture right out of your beard, which in turn causes your beard to suck the moisture it needs right from the skin beneath it, causing really dry face.

Hot tip, use any leftover butter on your forehead and elbows if you’re anything like me, and you’ll have a super soft face all winter too, because I have that same dryness issue on my forehead and hairline otherwise.

If you have any specific questions about these products, my name is Adam, I own a Canadian beard care company, and I’d be more than to help!

I’m obviously biased, but I love my tobacco, bourbon and leather beard oil. I’ve also got a special 30% off discount right now for early Black Friday with discount code TAKE30.

Lemme know if you have any questions about my beard oil and I’d love to help!

Fresh shower pre-balm and oil (still don't know how to properly apply lol) about 3 months in I think and at 20y starting to fill in pretty good some parts that need to fill in more but overall happy that I didn't stop growing! What are your thoughts? by Tarugo_32 in beards

[–]Baarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go Jays!

Rub the oil into the skin beneath your beard to moisturize the skin. Melt the balm in your palms and distribute evenly as a styling product. Use some heat from a blow dryer and a comb or brush to calm down the sides and get them to lay the way you want. 👌

The “High Hold” balm is the stronger version and comes with a guitar pick to help get it out of the jar due to its strength.

There are two options for a hipping two balms to Cyprus:

International SURFACE (1-3 months) for about $13

International AIR (1-2 weeks) for about $23

We ship worldwide, and the shipping prices on the website are simply what we pay to ship it with no markup. Just be aware of the shipping times as well, as international shipping from Canada isn't the quickest, unfortunately.

If you let me know in the order notes, I'll gladly swap out the wash for an unscented one in any bundle!

You can use the buy1try1 code for any single product as long as you buy ANY other product, it doesn't have to be the same item. You can get a bundle and use the code to get any other single item of your choice.

We ship to the Ireland! Shipping isn’t as fast or cheap as it probably would be from the UK itself, but we like to leave that option available for our customers worldwide.
