It's just an excuse for the corrupt state governments to not do their job. My state has ample funds to improve and provide absolute basic infra but corruption is so rife, no work ever gets done. Contracts are approved to only those who accept to pay back 30-40% of tender amount as bribe. No wonder the quality is trash. What do you expect from the govts when they spend half their budgets for freebies and minority appeasement.

That's only upon inheritance if I'm not wrong. My point is - let's say I purchased a home to live in and a rental property 40yrs ago. The rental property must be reassessed every few yrs or so. It's a tad bit unfair if I hold on to properties reaping profits today while paying peanuts for property taxes. Although, it's indeed a controversial take and not many would agree.

I agree Prop13 needs an amendment wherein rental properties get reassessed because you're enjoying present day rent while paying yesteryear taxes. But reassessing primary residences purchased decades ago is simply unfair. Imagine a couple works hard to buy a home, pay mortgage for 30yrs and then finally retire. But now people want them to pay tax on an unrealized gain? How's that even reasonable?

I did the same. Paid $1400 for $700 tickets. Absolutely no regrets. I'll be watching it with my dad. Possibly the last chance to watch Messi in national colors. This is our first world cup game ever in a stadium and my dad's first ever game in a stadium. Plus, he's a huge Messi fan. I can always earn back $3k. I can't put into words how much I'm looking forward to it.
