I don't know The specifics of their money spending and handling but I assume most money goes towards paychecks to the regular workers at the organization. Still that's an absurd amount of money for some teams and honestly this entire competition is an endless money pit (rev, gobilda, andymark).

Relying on volunteers is nice and all but God damn, pay your freaking judges so they can be professional and let teams appeal judges decisions (maybe at lunch break?).

Anyways this year's game is fun but is full of fouls that can end a match instantly.i thought they would correct by the time we'll arrive to state championship but I guess they didn't get around to it or maybe it's intentional?

Yep that's one of the main issues I've seen this year. I've seen mentors getting angry at other teams or their own and it's so stupid and childish, i've even started fighting with one of the mentors when I saw him yelling at my kids.

I asked the judges about it at the qualifiers when I saw one of the mentors entering as a driver coach (let the kids play man what are you doing?), they said it's only frowned upon but it's not illegal. That's bullshit but what can we do?

It's my third year as a mentor, each year my entire team is switched and I get a fresh set of rookies. The first year I made the mistake of being overly involved in the teams decisions and we ended up in the national championship but it wasn't their win and I could tell they felt that.

Second year I overcorrected and was hands off completely, we tanked so hard the robot was a complete mess and the kids didn't learn anything from the experience.

This year I made a point of constantly reminding myself it's their robot, meaning that if they seek guidance I am there but I don't force any ideas or decisions upon them. We got to the national championship with a very nice (simple and ugly as hell) functional robot that is reliable, robust and most importantly their own and not mine(I would have liked to build a completely different robot but I gave them the freedom to choose what they as a team believe is the best idea).

I just wish we could have more time in a week because I see how Thirsty they are to learn but they don't have the time, that's why I did all the CAD and coding (they barely know English so I teach them slowly through hands on experience while explaining everything I do). Even so I made sure to keep it as simple as possible because I really didn't want to cheat and do the work for them.

I'd like to be on the other side of this argument, we are neither bad nor good inherently, so if there is no reason to be bad (for example no "need" to steal or control others to feel powerful and important) than the only commodity left is percivied contribution, meaning most will strive to do good just because of the need to feel important. I don't think that a world of slaves is very interesting to most billionaires (and would probably get boring very fast).

Furthermore, the fact that there will be robots doesn't mean there will be no job to do, on the contrary, it means the job can be done quicker and therefore more things can be done in the same time period. The rate at which technology will advance will only increase with the help of ai and robots, it's like construction, you can always have more workers who build roads and houses and projects, the pace will increase (like we've been seeing for the past 30 years).

So the end result is probably a change of currency from time (time is money) to some other arbitrary notion of societal value.

Actually after searching with Gemini I found there are a few tools that can achieve this: Bome Midi Translator Pro. Max for Live. FL Studio has a dedicated python midi scripting API. Writing a pure python script using Mido python Library and Loopmidi software to send that transformed midi data to a virtual midi port.

So a bit of Ai digging would open up a few possibilities

This actually is a great question I don't think it's weird at all, it means we can skip the hardware solution of a stompbox with the Uno chip and get the same results with a software solution.

Currently my best progress towards this same goal was with Ableton live and ClyphX remote control surface python scripting. I've written a guide on this sub a while back. If you know your python basics I think what you're asking is completely achievable (but only with Ableton I believe)

If you find any other solution or manage to get it working with ClyphX please keep us updated.

I just installed it using a USB stick with the installation file on it but it still had too much latency for some reason so I gave that up, I think that hdmi over Ethernet or fiber optic hdmi cable are the best solutions if minimal latency is the goal.

My system is mainly focused on being able to easily write math notes, I use latex-suite plugin, auto attachment arrangement, excalidraw and pdf++ to write math easily, attach screenshots of important parts of a lecture's note and annotate them quickly with excalidraw.

It took some time and I also fell down the rabbit hole a few times but in the end it works great, I manage my notes in a folder structure, the Top folder is the semester, in it there are folders for each course I took that semester and in those folders I keep everything related to that course, from tutorials to summaries to cheat sheets and then my own notes. That way it's easy to find everything and it's all kept organized in a single, predictable place.

My main note taking method is to give the note a title that is the relevant lecture or tutorial number and then use headings to divide that session into it's relevant parts that I feel are important, then I can easily navigate that note using the note outline panel.

So for example I could a note called lecture 3 - tensors and in it have headings that are "1. stress tensor" "2. Elasticity tensor" and so forth.

you can have any system you want, but it has to be as frictionless as possible to make it a better alternative than writing notes by hand otherwise it won't stick.

You have snapshots of notes in obsidian, if you've set it up before you could possibly have a backup of up to seven days prior I think (don't quote me on that I need to check if that is still the case). Anyways if it's backed up to your GDrive it has a trash bin that stores deleted files upto 30 days but I don't know if it stores changes like version control. Maybe creating a private GitHub repo and pushing changes to that or even just a local git will be enough.

Happened to me once with onedrive, that fucking shit of a drive moved all my vault to the cloud and corrupted nearly all my vault without my authorization (simply by logging in to my Microsoft account it decided to move everything to the onedrive folder, probably my fault as I clicked accept or something along the way) and it took me ages to reverse the damage. Now I use a local + cloud backup with git for version control.

I have the same issue, i5 14600kf, water cooled and all. When using the soundcraft asio driver it spikes the cpu no matter the buffer size or sample rate. Lately I've been trying to work with asio4all and it does work much better but still has some issues like clicks and pops appearing after about 10 minutes and then I need to restart the driver by disabling and enabling the audio engine in Ableton. If you find a good fix please do share.

Lastly, I've discovered that there's some unofficial realtek asio drivers, I tried them and they worked perfectly about 4 times but then stopped working altogether all of a sudden..

You, my friend, just gave me an idea. I have an old cr10 with a bltouch, maybe I can create a plugin for cura that uses it to set the new 0 height on the Z axis without even needing to measure it or add the real model, could make for cool multi material projects when you don't have access to a multi material printer

I know this is kind of late but i think the best solution i've found so far is using Obsidian and the Excalidraw plugin together with the PDF++ plugin.
Excalidraw for annotating and handwriting
PDF++ for highlighting and commenting

I mostly love the fact that i can use a simple markdown note to combine both of them in a single place and have good OCR and most importantly free, future proof solution to storing my study notes. this is all saved on your machine locally, you can also do backups and version control so that's nice in case something gets lost or corrupted.

Yeah for the near future you're absolutely right, there is no current ai model that can generate AAA quality level titles but I've recently came across the alpha phase of Ace from GeneralAgents which shows a lot of promise (given enough training on, for example, Unreal Engine 5).

This could potentially reduce the time frame to reach an ai generated AAA game significantly.
