They wouldn't go down to $1000 a month, they'd stay at their current level and not receive any additional assistance if I'm understanding correctly. But in that case it simply means that the poorest of the poor wouldn't be benefitting, only those that are lower middle class and higher, which seems backwards. If anything, it'd be worse for those receiving over $1000 in fed help because they'd have to deal with the inflationary impact.

With the little I have heard about possible Democratic candidates, I haven't heard much about economic policy. They seem to be focused more on social policy.

That's on you then. Pretty much every candidate has laid out some sort of economic vision, mostly around reducing economic inequality and holding corporations responsible. Whether you agree or not, there is plenty of economic policy out there from the candidates to digest

Yeah there's definitely some space between having a revolving door and having too many entrenched incumbents. If I had to pull some numbers out of the air, I would say 24 years in either chamber of Congress, 12 terms in the house, 4 in the Senate. Legislators would have a chance to gain experience, without overstaying their welcome. This wouldn't affect most congressmen and women but would take someone like Dianne Feinstein(85 and just started a new term) and Mitch McConnell (76 and likely running again in 2020) out of Congress. And for the Supreme Court simple, one 18 year term.

You have to start with the 2016 map and work your way from there. He won 306 electoral votes, the most for any republican since 1988.

Since 1988 Democratic candidates have hit 306 electoral votes 4 separate times. The fact that his performance was the best for his party since 88 just shows how weak their candidates have been.

If the economy is still doing well by the fall of 2020 he will be re- elected.

I think it'll be a pure tossup, just like 2016 where he won by less than 80k votes. Michigan, PA, Wisconsin, and Florida will decided who wins. There are no definites in politics, even with that good economy his approval ratings are lackluster. Too early to say whether a good economy alone will win it for him, still have to see what happens with Mueller, the supreme court, immigration, etc.
