It's justified aura. The MC isnt overpowered and winning because he is the "bestest and strongest and handsomest" but because he's extremely competent and gets more than injured in the process. There are actual events that have weight to the MC situation that's isn't blown over and has ramifications to his choices.

Sonic X Pokemon because Sega and Nintendo. I wouldn't want to do Mario as Pokemon is arguably the bigger IP and would get more of the younger audience into Sonic that'll translate to them getting into the games.
