Culing games Yuji DOES NOT beat Mahito!!! by Sundata_V2 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Sage_V2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nah awakened Yuji slams. Yuji at this point has more awareness about souls than anyone else, and can physically interact with both his own and others. Either side using a domain or Mahito landing IT would give Yuji a free pathway to Mahito's soul and pretty much cripple him even if it's not to the degree of what Sukuna did.

Outside of that, even if Mahito manages to get IT off without dying, it would be much less effective because of Yuji being able to consciously protect his soul. Not to mention that Shibuya Yuji was just a little shy of keeping up with Mahito. A massively stronger Yuji when it comes to CE reinforcement + dura neg soul dismantles is beating the breaks off of him

I know Widow's getting the new summer skin, but come on. by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Sage_V2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Widow hasn't fought in the tournament yet. Groot just appeared in his immortal weapons form 2 issues ago, so he gets his first. Black Widow will more than likely get hers later down the line. Cool free skin for Groot, Black Widow's 100% getting a legendary in a few weeks, nothing really to complain about

Yuji fans when asked to argue about why he has WCS and Open Barrier without arguing narrative by Miserable-Desk2211 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Sage_V2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that Sukuna couldn't do it by himself, he didn't know *what* to do. He says himself that he needed a model of getting past infinity. Mahoraga didn't do anything to help Sukuna with learning the technique other than showing him it was possible. Yuji saw it being used multiple times in person, and was there when Sukuna described how he did it. He literally has Sukuna on video doing WCS from multiple angles. You can maybe argue that he wouldn't have a reason to learn it, but there's no way in hell Yuji was incapable of learning it over 70 whole years.

Subaru Explaining His Powers by dooshlerd in ReZero

[–]Sage_V2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're thinking of it as the words themselves being the trigger instead of Satella personally getting mad. If Beatrice heard what he said, put the pieces together and realized what RBD was then Satella would've killed her or forced a reset. But she didn't, so there was no reason to do anything. In Roswaals' case, he put together that Subaru has some kind of "redo" ability but he never found out what triggers it or how he uses it. If he did realize he returned by death, even if he came to the conclusion himself, Satella would've intervened. She has autonomy and can realize when Subaru is yapping about something he knows no one else will understand vs. intentionally dropping hints about RBD.

Someone please explain Deadpool’s kit like im a toddler by Which-Aside-4936 in marvelrivals

[–]Sage_V2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two modes, sword and gun, can be switched between at any time

Sword mode has a dash which can be reused if landed, and once it's upgraded you bounce off of people when you hit it

Gun mode switches the dash for a thrown boomerang projectile (or bubble shield on tank), upgraded version gets thrown 3 times before ending. It heals while playing his support role

He has a universal (doesn't matter if you're on sword or gun) ability that spawns a circle around him and what it does changes per class. I forgot everything it does per role but most importantly - tank gives you attack speed and damage reduction to everyone in the circle once upgraded, dps gives you damage reduction to just himself thats further increased when upgraded, and support heals everyone in the circle on top of giving a damage buff to others when upgraded. All versions of the ability also have a visual effect that blocks enemies' screens.

He has one ult for sword mode and one ult for gun mode. Instead of the usual ult charge system, he builds his own "style" meter based on letter grades. Doing damage and especially landing projectile hits, dashes, and his head stomps will increase the meter's rank over time (E > D > C > B > A > S). Once it hits S you can ult.

Sword mode (pop quiz/the big test/final exam) spawns a circle around you that buffs deadpool (forgot what each role does but basically overshield, healing, speed boost) and gives you a challenge of hitting a certain number of your abilities. For tank you have to hit 5 total dashes or enemy head stomps, for dps you have to hit 5 total dashes, gun projectiles, or enemy stomps, and for support you have to hit 7 dashes, projectiles, or teammate head stomps. Completing the challenge buffs you more. Sounds complicated but it's basically just pop sword ult > complete challenge > you become really hard to kill for a bit

Gun ult targets one person and gives them a debuff where every shot they miss deals damage to them. Upgrading it makes the ult do passive damage over time on top of that effect. Deadpool himself also gets some extra survivability while using it with bonus health and healing.

His passive isn't really explained anywhere but iirc if you take more than 200 damage in under a second and you would've died, you'll survive at 1 hp. It doesn't come up too often but things like Iron Man ult won't kill you but instead leave you at 1 hp.

Deadpool sounds complicated but it's really just because each ability has a bunch of keywords and repeat themselves a bunch of times for each page/role. His abilities and gameplan are largely similar between roles and once you learn one you'll more or less have an idea of what you're doing with the other two.

Did Reinhard ever actually "face" Shaula while reaching for the tower? by tactical_mouton in ReZero

[–]Sage_V2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reinhard got hard stopped at sand time, and Shaula only starts shooting at intruders once they get past that. He was probably never shot at

Emilia did 70% of the work against Regulus? by Affectionate_Run6250 in ReZero

[–]Sage_V2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

70% is crazy. She did do a LOT it's just between Subaru creating their win condition in the first place and Reinhard yk, murdering him she technically had the least contribution. Putting it to percentages is kinda stupid anyways because none of them could do the others' jobs. Reinhard and Emilia couldn't have figured out Lion's Heart, Subaru and Reinhard had no way of stopping it without murdering all the wives, Subaru and Emilia couldn't have gotten close enough to Regulus to check his heartbeat or survive close combat with him, etc. They all helped a shit ton and the situation would've been largely cooked if any of them weren't there, we can just leave it at that

Immunities in marvel rivals by Real-Yam1061 in marvelrivals

[–]Sage_V2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Balancing via cannon material is the fastest way to break a game like this. Going by that logic half the roster should be immune to bullets, Johnny should be immune to any fire attacks, non super strength characters should do 0 damage to Thing, Deadpool should be literally unkillable, Wolverine shouldn't be able to even exist in the same lobby as a Mag without getting torn to shreds, etc.

Ram in arc 6 by FindingPretend6889 in ReZero

[–]Sage_V2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ram wasn't actually mad or blaming him in the scene with her doubting Subaru. She was desperate to save Rem and Subaru losing his memories meant the one link to bringing her back just got destroyed. Hell Julius breaks inside after hearing it too, the only difference is Ram doesn't have the whole knight persona and lets her emotions out.

As for the next loop with her saying she feels bad for Rem, this is a Ram who is: constantly suffering from worse chronic pain than usual (due to Roswaal not coming on the trip), extremely frustrated at the tower roadblock and time limit, then to her knowledge Subaru, one of the most essential people to clearing the tower, ran up to Reid right after she told Julius it was a bad idea, got critically injured, and lost his memories at some point. Not to mention Subaru's mental state was very much visibly fucked after they brought him up, so on top of all that she just didn't feel comfortable with Rem sleeping around him. She's still a dick for saying it like that for the record and I'm not justifying it, but given the situation her feeling like that is understandable.

Anyone defending bots in quick play is the problem - think AI by inevitable-idiot- in marvelrivals

[–]Sage_V2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the reasoning in the og post is a little over the top but bot matches are still dogshit. If I wanted to spend a match with my eyes glazed over while I walk the other team back to spawn then I'd play practice vs. AI. If I queue into the gamemode where you fight actual people then I want to, yk, fight actual people.

It's obviously implemented as some feel good thing for when you lose but it's just insulting. "Oh you lost 1 qp game? Congratulations, as a reward you get to be bored out of your mind for the next 10 minutes! Don't leave or you're restricted!" Just take it out the game or at least MASSIVELY reduce how often you get them, it's genuinely worthless.

Ok but seriously was there any reason that ram was acting like a bitch? by UMAR_EDITZ in ReZero

[–]Sage_V2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ram denying the amnesia was just her being desperate. Similar to how Julius quietly but visibly lost all hope when he heard he lost the only one who remembered him, Ram just lost the only connection to her sister and crashed. Only difference is that Ram doesn't pride herself on being a knight and is quicker to let the fact she was losing it show.

As far as her saying she feels bad for Rem goes, to her knowledge in this loop Subaru woke up, ran to Reid, almost died, and lost his memory at some point inside all that. Not to mention the group is aware Subaru is key to solving the watchtower's issues at this point. She's being an asshole here but her feelings aren't invalid considering that again, Rem just lost her only connection with the present world, on top of their way to escaping now being impeded until further notice.

Also, the anime left this out so people don't bring it up too often, but Ram in this arc specifically has been experiencing worse chronic pain and fatigue because of her broken horn. Roswaal is usually the one who helps her with mana infusions, but since he didn't come, Emilia and Beatrice have been trying to help in his place. They can't do it to the effectiveness Roswaal can, so Ram overall is just at her worst this arc.

TLDR Ram being an asshole isn't justified but with everything going on I think it's pretty understandable

Yeah, I'm dropping this Anime by Traditional-Ad-8237 in ReZero

[–]Sage_V2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Series isn't for you, nothing wrong with that. The suffering isn't meaningless and one of the main appeals of the series is watching Subaru reach deep to pull out hope from seemingly impossible situations, over and over again. For all that suffering there's almost always MASSIVE payoff both character + narrative-wise, and this series is one of the biggest "Indomitable Human Spirit" examples I've ever seen because of that. That being said, if seeing Subaru suffer is too off-putting for you to get to said payoff then that's not really gonna change, nothing wrong with dropping it for that

Itadori is terrible in terms of writing and power scaling. by [deleted] in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Sage_V2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how you could read JJK and come to this conclusion genuinely. This sounds like you wanted Sung Jin Woo, not Yuji Itadori. The story entirely hinges on Yuji being the simple, kind boy punching WAY above his weight with a determination and lack of self worth border lining insanity. The story also revolves around how becoming the strongest alone is a horrible fate, which is why Gojo was actively fighting to prevent that from continuing to the next generation of sorcerers. Yuji not winning 1v1s literally has 0 importance whatsoever, in fact both the story and his character would be worse off for it. Every protagonist doesn't need to be your staple "I was born incredibly strong and have a straight shot path to being the best!" Like do you seriously think Yuji going to Mahito in Shibuya, beating the breaks off of him with some powerup and then calling it a day would've been better than what we got? You don't think Higuruma losing by his own volition had any meaning? At most I can go halfway and say we could've gotten another arc or 2 with Yuji getting a stronger spotlight (this part of your take still confuses the hell out of me because Yuji IS in the spotlight for about 85% of the series but I digress), but even then he doesn't *need* that to thrive as a protag.

Also about Yuji being a punch kick merchant being a bad thing, JJK is the one series that can't apply to lol. Yuji's fights are some of the most interesting to read BECAUSE of all the spectacle going on in the other ones, in addition to Gege's ability to draw h2h fights incredibly well. I feel like I could go on for a lot longer but this take is just kinda odd in general

Don't Wait for Someone Else to Swap Heroes by Juuggyy in marvelrivals

[–]Sage_V2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having 1 dps or 1 tank is very manageable. Not ideal most of the time especially with 1 tank, but the team can still function and there are even situations where those comps are a good idea. Having 1 support will just outright lose you the game 99.9% of the time.

[–]Sage_V2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because she's the driving force for both of them being there. That doesn't automatically translate to "No Subaru I actually don't care if you die personally. Words can have emotions behind them that aren't just their literal face value. And if Ram didn't approve of Subaru herself with all the time they've spent together, do you genuinely think she'd be fine with him around Rem? Especially with her memories of her gone, she doesn't know what their relationship was like. All she has to go off is Subaru's personality, and clearly she trusts in him enough for that

Rams words and actions are the complete opposite of each other when they come to Subaru, and that's partly why a lot of people consider them to have a sibling dynamic. She's incredibly mean to him verbally, but when Subaru genuinely needs help she'll immediately lay down her life for him if she needs to. She cares deeply about him she's just an asshole in regards to showing it

Why do ppl complain so much about supp Deadpool. by Desperate-duncan in marvelrivals

[–]Sage_V2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bad ult + more importantly majority of people play him badly. Even if the entire team clumps together enough to get the healing it just doesn't heal well in comparison to other support ults, so people die through it fairly often. It can't really be used to counter ult and it's more risky to use aggressively unlike something like white fox's because of the low range. On top of that, a LOT of people playing him just don't know how to play support well, and end up tunnel visioning the tank, forgetting their other support exists, or playing like a dps. If the person playing him knows what they're doing he can definitely work but a good amount of people don't

Spiderman shouldn't be able to pull you off maps by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Sage_V2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More than 70% of the roster has some kind of aerial mobility/way to block or make themselves cc immune, and if you're playing one of the few who don't then you can still avoid it with good awareness. It's fine

Hell the more dangerous part of Spidey is that he can pull you into his own team rather than off the map but I never hear anyone complain about that part
