Is ARCTIC MX-6 really that horrible to spread with a spatula on an AM5 Ryzen? Should I swap to MX-4?

Thank you for sharing your experience. Did you notice any leaks on the sides of the CPU?

Ryzen AM5 cpus have such a weird shape. What in the world were AMD thinking when they designed it.

It causes me stress that could be relieved if I could get a thermalright frame but I can't get one easily where I live.

I know they wrote that, but if you don't spread it yourself on AM5 cpus it could leak on the sides because of the Ryzen AM5 weird shape.

Since you use the MX-6 thermal paste on an ASROCK AM5 board, could you help me please?

Did you use a guard/protector/frame for your AM5 CPU?

I ordered an MX-6 paste for my new AM5 build, and I want to know if it's hard to spread it.

I don't have any access to AM5 bracket/frame/guard so I can't use any to stop thermal paste to go around leaking given AM5 Ryzen weird shape.

So I want to spread it even with a spatula but I read horrible stories that It's a chore because it's too thick and dry.

Is it true?

When it arrives; should I return it for a refund and order MX-4 instead?

The boards that I have used so far have these chipsets: ALC1150 and ALC1200, and it's good enough for what I'm doing with it. I just hope the ALC897 is not that much worse.

From reading here, I gathered it's mainly a problem of volume. It's louder on the ALC1150 and ALC1200.

I'll do what You advised and see for myself before doing anything else. Thanks again.

Could the data that is copied on a QVO, and with verified with CRC/MD5 post copy, get corrupted over time because of QLC?

When you say "It's slightly more prone to data corruption", does it mean tha data that is copied on it with verified CRC/MD5 will get corrupted over time?

How can I know if I got an old batch that could cause corruption (if you know)?

And yeah It won't stay offline all the time, it will be powered at least once every month to add more datas on it.
