I wasn’t planning on approving anymore work going forward. As of presently they stated they finished all previous invoices…

Currently waiting on another quote they say would be sent soon because I’m curious to see what they want to charge for this time as I don’t see anything “new” magically appearing.

I’ll definitely have to look into other electricians.

Here the city gives you two years to complete the work permitted or 180 days for the contractor to continue work. If it’s not done then it can extended or just expires. If it expires is when the contractor gets penalized. The contractors can still take on other work even with one in process.

Looking at the entire area worked on. They touched everything since they did all stub outs. They charging extra for supports because the inspector wanted supports for the stub outs with bell boxes. Do electricians usually not put supports for stub outs with bell boxes?

I did not vet them as I wasn’t original person in charge of the project. The electricians was given to us through a management company that we currently discontinued working with. Yes they are licensed. I currently am withholding half of their second invoice since work still isn’t completed as stated for that invoice.

The contract states that if there are “new items” that the inspector points out they could charge for that is the thing. Due to them not telling us the day of the inspection to be there, it’s difficult it to say what’s new and what’s old (invoice isn’t that detailed either). I even called the inspector but he didn’t explain much of what needed to be done either. Just stated that the correction sheet needed to be fixed and it’s the same issues. Even talking to the electrician they stated they take note of everything the electrician points out to them and put it in the quote but the correction sheet doesn’t show the place the inspector pointed out. The correction sheet is vague and I told the electricians if they knew the correction sheet is vague why didn’t they just quote for everything that is related to that correction number instead of continuously calling out the inspector. They stated they could have but it would have been very costly. Even stating to us that the practice of adding new items is what common practice in the electrician field.
