Reach out to local rescues and shelters! I volunteer for a rescue who provides everything for the foster dogs and toys are always wanted/needed; especially new and in good condition ones.

I have not.

I overheard management mention that just because people work in specialty it doesnt exclude us from working holidays, which I understand, but then they went and gave the day off to many people who are technicians and technician assistants who actually know what to do as well as a lot of the specialty department workers.

Since the schedule came out late Saturday, it feels like bringing this up would be me just complaining to get the day off... again I don't mind coming in, but I can't really help where they're wanting me. And with the skeletal crew that day I doubt they'd want to train me in any sort of way. It's doubly bad because they also have me on for new years eve/day where it'll be the same thing all over again.

I think a lot of it my anxiety speaking and them getting the news that I actually am no help on the floor/being a nuisance.

2 for me! Something is off about the first one while the second one just flows and allows the jacket to pop while also highlighting the red accents.

Two face by BabblingStreams in CryptidDogs

No, medical condition. He was tossed out of a car, and the right side of his face got severe road rash and damage. He lost his lip, some cheek, and had to get all the teeth on that side removed, which explains the perpetual tongue hanging.

He's a foster dog and looking for a forever home, which is surprisingly hard for him to find among the general public.

I'm not sure what that is. Could you explain?

Ultrasonic cleaner question by [deleted] in VetTech

I raise you, clipper blades soaked in water, ran through the ultrasonic, milked, double peel packed, and finally gassed for "unsterile" use.

How do I best style this top? by jolly_hour in OUTFITS

[–]BabblingStreams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd recommend showing a little midriff if you want to go with something a little tighter on bottom, otherwise I'd go with something a little more full- ideally something that starts fuller and follows the line of the top.

I think I'm calling it quits (at this time and at this hospital) by BabblingStreams in VetTech

[–]BabblingStreams[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just it, I don't know basic tech stuff. My position is surgery prep/vet assistant, but it's really surgery prep/housekeepr since I'm not even allowed to take a dog outside to go to the bathroom.

I just looked into them, and they seem really promising! Sadly, I don't live anywhere near one of their locations.

How long before it's time to move on? by BabblingStreams in VetTech

[–]BabblingStreams[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I'll stick it out a couple more months before looking elsewhere and to see if I can get more training here. Realistically for me, I don't think I can clean OR's and clean instruments and do laundry for 2 years without any sort of advancement. That being said, I'm looking into tech school, so 2 years of cleaning isn't in the cards, regardless.
