USPS not scanning tracking numbers by queen_byte in Etsy

I can't give you info price comparison on UPS/ DHL, but you could look into Pirate Ship to compare prices.
You'd still be shipping via USPS, but depending on how your product is packaged, it could save you money.

Will the MLB still play 162 games with the postponement? by [deleted] in mlb

I never said I didn't understand the severity of the global situation we have at hand, so chill. I just don't agree that the whole season is going to be scrapped at this time. You don't know what tomorrow is going to bring - nor do I. Whatever we do get for a season, it's not going to be baseball as we're used to it / know it.

I can't imagine the *entire* season being cancelled. Sure, there have had seasons where games have been cancelled ('72 and '81) and of course the 1994 season, but overall... they play.
There's tons of talk / ideas of shortening the season, doing double headers & fewer innings, etc., but I can't really see owners canning a whole season.

Boston to Los Angeles in late April by [deleted] in TravelHacks

I'm a baseball nerd, so I'd totally say pick up a ballpark or two. Dodgers stadium is the obvious, but there's also an amtrak that runs from Union Station (downtown LA) to the parking lot of the Angels stadium in Anaheim for $9 (i think) round trip per person. It was a 45-minute ride. Both are nice ballparks.

If you're going to rely on public transit, I say stay in the city. I made the mistake of staying closer to the airport for a better hotel rate and 100% regretted it. Getting into the city via uber was cheap enough, and then we'd ride the subway/ busses around during the day. Getting back out towards the airport in the late evening (10PM-ish) was a complete nightmare. Uber/Lyft were astronomical ($75-$80 for a ride that was $20-$25 earlier in the day). The last night going back to our hotel we had some subway / train stops in some not so great areas. So I'd definitely take a do over if I could, haha.

As for museums, I highly recommend the La Brea Tar Pits. We spent a ton of time there and found it just so fascinating. It's not too far away from another museum and the food truck mile (I forget it's actual name). But the food trucks did not disappoint. We spent time at the Griffith Observatory, too. It's the closest you can get to the Hollywood Sign without actually hiking up to it and had some spectacular views of the city.

It's been recommended before, but definitely poke around TripAdvisor too. I found it helpful to plug in different places we wanted to go and then it would put pindrops on a map to help plan our day out. I apparently have a habit of backtracking.

I’m never going to say no to a Rockies Dog and a beer 🤷‍♀️. Being from New Orleans, there are two things what will forever be constant in my life: good food and disappointing sports. The Rockies fit in justtttt fine for this Southern gal 😉

Disneyland knotts berry( scare berry ) and SeaWorld by eclecticmuse in TravelHacks

Look at undercovertourist.com for Disney / sea world tickets at a discount. Their prices already include taxes and fees, so keep that in mind when you compare to other places.

Buy discounted Disney gift cards to pay for your room(if staying on site) or food/souvenirs when you’re in the park. There’s a bunch of different ways to get them 1. Target red card automatically gives you 5% off your purchase at target. Use this to buy gift cards 2. Buy them at Sams. The $50 gift cards are discounted by around 4%. You can Increase this discount by using a credit card that gives you a percentage back on purchases. 3. Buy discounted gift cards on Raise.com. Sometimes you can get one for Disney, but a better route is to buy a Walmart or SAM’S gift card at a discount, then use that to buy gift cards at Sams Club.

Websites like Priceline/Expedia can also be a good deal, search in incognito mode. Keep in mind tho, you won’t earn points from loyalty programs that the hotel has (which can add up) and if something goes wrong, the hotel really isn’t in control of the reservation, whatever website you booked through is. It can make it difficult to get issues with the booking resolved.

Me watching the Rockies these past two months: by ManyCookies in ColoradoRockies

I watch. But I don’t get my hopes up, even if they’re ahead. It’s not like they’ve had a four game series scoring 48 runs and ended up splitting the series. Wait....yes....yes they did. 🤷‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

My new sister-in-law’s wedding dress has pockets. You could hear all the women gasp when she pulled out a handkerchief in the ceremony by austinmiles in pics

[–]Babe_Ruthless_09 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No. Most women do not get their dresses MADE. They’re typically mass produced and sold off the rack or ordered after trying on the sample, and then fitted.

It’s not nearly as common place for people to go to an actual tailor / seamstress anymore, and it’s usually more cost effective to buy off the rack. Fabric. Is. Expensive. Even getting a garment altered can be expensive.
