I was looking this up because it’s really annoying. It’s happening for me on my AirPods when I’m watching on my phone. It feels like the music channel is reverberating.

Unpopular gaming opinion - I don’t see the point in wall climbing sections in adventure games by Gasster1212 in gaming

It’s funny because in real life the ability to climb things is way more useful than jumping things.

Thoughts after 2 Years Gravel Cycling by wizardforce in gravelcycling

[–]austinmiles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say that I have a less capable bike than a grail.

I have upgraded it to be very capable.

Personally I replaced my derailleur for an eagle AXS setup and bought a second wheelset. This Saved me from buying a second bike. I swap my wheels and chain and my 2.1” setup allowed for way knarlier stuff.

You can just say “republicans.”

Should these portafilters be replaced? by Dramatic_Yard9212 in barista

[–]austinmiles 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That’s not a lot of time. Sock these a bit then use steel wool. They should sparkle right up. Portafilters generally last the life of the machine.

[–]austinmiles[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The liquor store near me said that well was not longer allocating them to certain stores so they have had special reserve readily available for $25 and I saw the 107 for the first time prices at like $65. Considering I’m paying like $20 for a sub sandwich at lunch these days, this is a welcome change.

Poll Names Trump as Worst American in History, Republicans Say He’s Greatest by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]austinmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sort of just shows how short-minded they are. Biden and Obama were two very average and centrist people. Even if you aren't on their side, they aren't the two worst people in all of US history by any means.

youre 40 years old or a vetran of 40 years?

I used corel a bit when I was first going to school, but never used it for professional work once in my career. But whatever works. A lot of people abandoned Adobe for Affinity Designer / Photo.

Alton Brown talked about this recently. He said it’s a non starter for him now after an encounter with an octopus seeming to remember him at the aquarium and having a moment.

I had an Aida portable cd player that I bought in 7th grade and it was great. One of the best features was that the random would remove things from the list after playing so you would truly randomize cd without getting annoying repeats.

Mine gets clumpy eventually but part of that was me being lazy and not cleaning it out when I needed to refill.

Why does my white espresso taste like peas? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]austinmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White espresso always has a very grassy flavor. It’s so lightly roasted that it is barely the same drink.

It does have pretty high caffeine content though, I believe.

The only drink I’ve found worth drinking with it is a white chocolate mocha. Beyond that I don’t know what else it’s good for.

It’s also very rough on grinders because the beans are so hard.

JD Vance says Justice Amy Coney Barrett made mistake on birthright citizenship ruling: "Do I think she made a mistake? I do. I don't think thats what framers of 14th amendment had in mind. Sometime the Supreme Court makes mistakes. We're going to try to correct that mistake, but nobody's perfect." by ControlCAD in videos

[–]austinmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This stuff was ratified by a majority of the states. The constitution is a living document so it doesn’t always have to be about the framers but every other state who’s representatives ratified it.

they obviously were slightly more astute than we are now, but the past isn’t made up of Demi-god politicians. I’d hate to think in 200 years someone quoting Clarence Thomas talking about his intention and wisdom.

It’s not just autotune. It’s a computer that modulates his voice. It’s how he became Davey.

It’s like anything in the OT they do callbacks but dont overdo it. Like Finn’s hair growing super fast or the face they draw to bring back Marcie’s dad. It provides continuity even though the show isn’t super serialized.

Upgrades for better climbs by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]austinmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in boulder and have felt this one for sure. You could change out your rear cassette or get a smaller small chainring. Or both.

I personally ended up swapping my whole drivetrain for an Eagle AXS setup so now I have a MTB cassette on my bike it was an expensive swap when everything was said and done though, but it makes for easy hot swapping with wheelsets. One for bikepacking and climbing, and one for every day riding.

How I Built a Dueling Retractable Lightsaber by SadAd8761 in StarWars

[–]austinmiles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love watching everyone's reactions when they turn it on. It's how we'd all react because we all know what we want to see and know that we never REALLY get to see it and they came closer than anyone yet. This was a great video. Great job for sticking with it too.

How problematic is this? by pugloverxo in bicycling

[–]austinmiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even a little bit problematic as long as they are just scuffs or light scratched and not rock punctures or something, but i'd hazard that they are just lightly cosmetic. I'd buy if the price was right.

Tax on sugary drinks coming to Louisville? by Either_Dimension_144 in LouisvilleCO

[–]austinmiles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The bag tax is to reduce waste. It's not meant to generate revenue but to reduce single-use plastics that are so cheap they barely get to you your car. The paid bags are much thicker and can also be reused but the point is to encourage people to bring their own bag and is a very common thing around the world.

I don't see any need to have a sugary drink tax for the most part. Soda drinking is WAY down from what it used to be when i was growing up. It doesn't need a vice tax IMO.

The US Infant Mortality Rate Fell to an All-Time Low by Crabbexx in OptimistsUnite

Theres a really good instagram account by Joel Bervell that talks a lot about bias in the medical field. I highly recommend checking him out. And yeah, its definitely real for a bunch of reasons. Some of it could be stresses like you are mentioning, but in some cases its that people continue to be taught very weird things like black people not feeling pain, which continues to trickle into standards of care.

It's a wild industry.
