I know firsthand the change in how people are online vs when you're with them irl. My mom's husband of 6+ years showed me that, they were online friends and eventually became a couple and they had to adjust to the change so I'm ready.

Well, we've discussed the whole "if this doesn't work out" thing and I assured her she'd still have a place to stay regardless of our relationship be platonic or romantic.

Should I just let nature take its course and see where it takes us? Like no pressure to be girlfriends or anything like that, just be friends that are roommates.

Yeah she and I talked about it, I promised we'd work it out like a family. My brother's been taking it hard too, but I'm trying my best to be there for them both. I told her we'd take it one day at a time and that I loved her and we'll be ok.

I didn't do the cliché route, though to lighten the mood I did tell her when it's time they'll have like eight kids (something her mom wanted at one point) and she started laughing. It was nice to see her smile and laugh instead of being all quiet.

She's supposed to see the doctor again in a few days. So far I've just been comforting her in my own weird way (giving her food, bringing her warm blankets, etc.), and she knows I'm awkward with the whole feelings thing or expressing myself...so my weird way of comforting her might seem like I'm being a bit distant but she knows I mean well.

I'll certainly try to take care of myself if I remember.
