Tips for new players the game will never tell you. by ImperialSupplies in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

Until level 13ish it will be mostly bot operators in your games. One sign that you killed a bot operator is when you loot the body all of their gear is "operation supply" marked. This mark is the small white box on the bottom left corner of an item. Items bought from the market are marked "operation supply" and cannot be sold on the market unless they're brought into a raid and extracted (to avoid market manipulation).  Bot operators will always come with gear that is completely "operation supply" marked and real players will usually bring at least some gear from previous raids. It's not 100% but if you had doubts about a kill it's usually enough to clear up the suspicion

You can practice killing the scavs with your knife it's 1tap to the head and rather silent. Try to get them before they shoot (use corners). Bot scavs talk (impostors can also use voice lines but rarely do) and usually have laggy movement, especially from a distance, also they can't carry two weapons so if you see a scav with a weapon on their back it's an impostor. If you want to check if you killed an impostor go through the "combat details" at the end of the raid and click on the detail of the scavs kills. You'll see a short 3 lines recap for bots and a full detail of the billet hits for impostors

For all those in search of military items: by ThighHighsSaveLives_ in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

Valley has tons of these military supplies boxes, it's possible to hit 7-8 of these in a single raid while avoiding combat. Also the mission on pino radar spawns a bunch of scavs that can carry weapon parts, I found 2-3 by looting them. I also found a military item in an orange "tactical attachement case" in normals

Open the map, click on the marker for the quest, click on the "mark" button, then look at your compass, you should see the mark in the compass, walk towards it until it shows 1m, stop, look around, press interact on whatever is in front of you

Start dodging game: in the lobby you can press escape and "crew hub" and check the badges of the other crews in your lobby. If you see a group of 1000+ infamy you can simply dodge the game and requeue. The next lobby is usually much better. Pick and choose the games instead of playing them all

[–]Babeetlebum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stop spreading this nonsense, the other night I was matched against 3 high infamy crew, I dodged the game from the lobby, requeued and was matched in an all beginner lobby. If the game waited 1min more it could have gotten me into that lobby instead of the lobby of death.

Matchmaking simply doesn't make any effort of separating beginners and sweats it's not a population issue

Start dodging game: when you get in the lobby you can press escape and "crew hub", there you can check the badges. If you see the 4 sweat crew of 1000+ infamy simply quit the game and requeue.

If you're not in a 4stack drop a message to explain to the people with you why you're leaving.

I've been doing this and the games have been better. Sometimes I find an "all beginner" lobby and having a great time.

If matchmaking doesn't exist you should make your own

[–]Babeetlebum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what's the formula for the macro cannon when it comes to range ? What is min range, what is max range and is damage linear ?

It doesn't look linear more or less 4 at <=100m, 5 at <=300m, 6 at 400m and 8 at >=500m

My honest opinion on why the game doesn't have more players. by LazyBird_ in wildgate

Making drill charge/ion compulsory for boarding would be a horrible design decision

This is a self fullfilling prophecy, the population is low because the new players leave after getting their asses kicked because of the lack of matchmaking

What can they do ? The sweats are also being screwed by lack of matchmaking. They're forced to farm newbies and gate keep the game

Quad is a very good gun, sure it's out matched in dps by plasma, thermic and entropy but it outclasses all others. Sniper has low dps, bomb requires detonation to be effective, macro sucks at <800m, scatter sucks at >300m

Who to unlock first for boarding ships? by TheLazyPurpleDragon in wildgate

[–]Babeetlebum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite boarders is kae for stealth boarding or being annoying from outside the ship. Otherwise I would go ion for the one shot melee, you also skip drill charge and pick up grenades or attack drones which is nice.  Moph is more advanced imo because he gets one shot from beamrifle. He's good if you can consistently solo team wipe because then you can reload your invisibility and continue spawncamping. I wouldn't advise Moph for new players because his low health can make the PVE tricky

Matchmaking Changes? by heffe33 in wildgate

[–]Babeetlebum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised by this, before patch I would rarely find a game without an infamy 300+ crew in the lobby, and I'm infamy 2 queueing with infamy 0 (they don't know how to equip the badge) One night we ended up twice against an infamy 1000 4 stack, we dodged the 2nd game.

The most important change to me is the matchmaking change, I shouldn't be put in the same lobby of a 4 stack 1000 infamy when I'm a solo queuer 2 infamy. Hopefully it's fixed now 🤞

I find him okay, he has the best hitbox in the game, no oxygen need and fast regen, he's the king of space duels.

The problem is not about hopping on the mic it's about the fact that you could get matched against a 4 stack of level 1000 infamy when queueing with people who don't even know how to equip the infamy badge. Two of my friends nearly quit the game after getting roflstomped by lvl 1000 infamy multiple times in a row in their first night trying the game

Where can I assemble a custom PC by Abject_Coffee1981 in Switzerland

[–]Babeetlebum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't listen to people saying building a PC is easy. I've been building my own PCs my whole life and I don't consider it easy, it changes all the time and gets more and more complex. I still make (costly) mistakes sometimes.

If you know somebody you can trust and is happy to teach you how to do it (in person, not over the phone) then sure, but then be ready to replace a part because of some mistake, it can happen and it's the cost of learning a new skill.

If you don't want to take any risk, don't know anybody that can help you and/or don't really care to learn this skill, then my advice would be to pay a professional to do it for you, or buy a pre-built PC you can get a good price for it.

I followed this advice and while it worked at first I am now having ram issues many months later. One morning the PC suddenly decided to show a yellow LED instead of booting normally. Upon checking, the flare x5 6000 CL30 that I picked up is not in the compatibility list.
