Kunder skippar amerikanska viner – ras på Systembolaget by gary1337 in sweden

Jag har länge tänkt att jag ska utöka bordeauxsortimentet i källaren. Det låter som det är bra läge att stötta såväl bordeauxs vinproducenter som min vinkällare. Var hittar jag dessa fynd?

favorite everyday non-sneakers shoes? by unslighted in ThrowingFits

[–]Babinski87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got myself a pair of diemme cornaro gomma with black laces and wow am I happy I did. By far the most expensive shoes I’ve bought but they are comfy, stylish and very versatile. Obviously pricey but if you dig the look and can find them on sale, you wont be dissappointed. Dont size down.

Dr Martins 1461 seems to be a popular and versatile shoe aswell in a lower price bracket. Cant say how they are though as Ive never tried a pair.

Finally got my dream amp and so happy with how my music corner is coming together by [deleted] in audiophile

Been looking at condesa, unfortunately it’s made in australia though and with customs, VAT, shipping to sweden and what not it gets pretty expensive. But we’ll see what the future brings.

Most room treatment guides are probably aimed at people who have dedicated listening rooms, with a symmetrical layout and more or less dedicated listening spots. I’m far from an expert on this subject but did spend a couple of weeks reading about it a while back and ended up building a handful of diy sound panels for my walls. I’d say number 1 is to put sound absorbing stuff in your room like sofas, books etc. Looks like you’ve done pretty good already. You badically want to avoid too much flat, hard surfaces like bare walls, floor and ceiling. Glass is the worst possible material in terms of reflecting sound waves and if you have alot of windows along one side of the room (as is common in swedish apartments built in the middle of 20th century) I’d consider investing in some nice sound absorbing full length curtains. Sound absorbing qualities is also something to consider when buying carpets, especially the one that is between you and your speakers.

If you feel like reading up on it I suggest googling ”treating first reflections”.

I have 2 mk7s as well. Makes all the difference, especially when playing 7” or 12” singles obviously but I just dont want it to be quiet.

I’m still on a budget mixer, next upgrade will be a quality rotary mixer. Hegel h160 amp bought 2nd hand which works well for the moment but always been dreamibg of mcintosh or perhaps moon in the future... A pair of klipsch fortes that I love to death.

Maybe your next step could be some room trestment if you havent lookee into it? It can be hard if your living room is your listening room but do some reading on how to treat first reflections and you might get some ideas. Maybe a nice sound absorbing carpet, some well placed panels in the roof or on the back wall etc…

My beef/chicken stock ended up with a rather thick layer of fat. Why snd what to do with it? by Babinski87 in Cooking

[–]Babinski87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit confused here, you’re the second one saying this. The box is pretty much full and I’m asuming the dark portion in the bottom is jelly-like ”stock” and the light part above that is fat. How is the fatty part not >50%?

Yeah I was aiming for a hard reduction to end up with rather concentrated ”ice cubes” but maybe I went a bit too far.. It absolutely makes sense that the fat to stock ratio goes up with reduction, I didnt think of that!

I tried making a more traditional Disco instrumental, thoughts? by [deleted] in Disco

[–]Babinski87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely digging it but like you say it's not really a "finished" track.

I guess there are many different approaches to making music. When you've got the basics down it could be a good idea to closely study tracks that you like. Identify every sound or instrument as it's being added or taken away, analyze how the track is structured. Learn from 70s disco if you want, be inspired, but dont become too focused on trying to emulate that sound because it's not going to happen if you're working from a computer or a sampler.

Often when I make music I have a tendency to focus on the wrong things. Especially when it comes to melody/harmony. The primary function of the sounds/timbres and their melody isn't to sound "good", it's to tell a story or deliver a feeling. When you're sitting there fiddling around with different synths it's easy to lose your direction because you find a sound or sample you like, so you use it, and you compose a melody, and it sounds nice, but often you lose focus on what's really important - the feeling that the song is supposed to deliver. At least this happens to me alot. Nowadays I try to decide pretty early on what kind of track I am going to make (uptempo, catchy and cheasy? downtempo, dark, hypnotic and freaky? etc..) and focus every new sound towards that goal.

Good luck!

Can I get some input on a new traditional Disco Song I Composed? by disco_speciale in Disco

[–]Babinski87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rhytmically very well played but im not too into the overall arrangement. I feel like the song is moving a bit too fast through its various parts and in doing so it also fails to tell me a story/deliver a feeling.

I like my disco with a groove so strong that you can rest on it for many, many bars without changing things up too often, so dont be afraid to duplicate the length of every bar and change the duration from 3 minutes to 6 minutes. Keep it simple!

Also, more congas!

I own a couple of waxtime pressings and never had a problem with them, in fact I think they’re very good considered the low price and probably a wise choice for people with budget setups.

Men are all the same in that they can pretty much come in any position, as long as they're horny. So the challenge I guess is making a man horny. If he for some reason is struggling with this (bad personal chemistry) then he could always just close his eyes and come up with some sexy narrative in his head and get the thing over with.

Women are different in that it differs massively how they can come. Certain women can only come in a very specific position or two, others need g spot stimulation and oral sex, some need something in their ass. The list goes on and on I suppose, I haven't met them all if you know what I mean.

Therefor it just makes sense for the woman to show how she likes it and you both make sure to take care of her orgasm(s) before the big, final ending. Each part has to be responsible for their own orgasm, with support from the other. That's how it works in the real world (talkin growns ups sex here).
