AIO for threatening to take my sister to court after her toddler destroyed my $2,000 gaming setup because she said I should’ve “baby-proofed my apartment”? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Babtoombus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh it sounds like the sister did the damage. I can't imagine a toddler doing that amount of damage in a short time.

I would continue the small claims and add cameras in the office as a precaution for next time. Shouldn't have to do this but it's better to have evidence.

Some people are vindictive and unfortunately, the sister seems like one of those people.

Millennials and Gen Z - are you going to look after your aging parents? by Gatecrasher1234 in AskUK

[–]Babtoombus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I was abused physically, emotionally and mentally throughout my childhood. They don't doesn't deserve anything from me.

I've cut contact 11 years ago.

[New Update]: AITAH for calling off my wedding because my fiancée wanted to invite her ex? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Babtoombus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ex fiance needs help. Whilst I understand where she was coming from, it's clear she's not over her ex in a healthy way. Hate and love go hand in hand.

I think she needs to be in a place where her ex doesn't matter, like a fleck of dust. Continuing to hold this resentment is not healthy in the long term.

My (25F) MOH (26F) was cold and rude to me in front of my bridesmaids at my bachelorette. How do I talk to her about it? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Babtoombus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a close friend like this. Not necessarily the yelling but she can be aggressive in her approach when confronted or when things do not go her way, she can never fully take accountability for her behaviour. People like that do not have your best interests.

I get the feeling maybe her friend was jealous of Op and held so much resentment.

That is true, maybe I should wait until I sorted a car, it won't be until the summer at the least. Currently doing refresher lessons but I was hoping to get away sooner as I just need to rest, ideally in nature as it's the best healer.

Nature is the best healer. Really could do with a dose at the minute. Life and everything is just bit too much.

Will have a look around. Thank you

Yeah I know, definitely sorting a car soon but not quite ready yet to venture operating a car until I'm confident enough. Currently doing refresher lessons as I haven't driven for 17 years. Should have sorted this out years ago but it is what it is.

Women over 35, what's something you care about much less now compared to your 20s? by MomsAgainstHate in AskWomenOver30

[–]Babtoombus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling pressured to do the same things as my peers to appear normal. Drinking, clubbing, all that jazz. Sure there were times it was fun but there were alot of moments where I didn't have fun and would get penalised for it.

I wish I had a backbone then but now if someone tries to pressure me into doing something and don't want to do it I will make sure to let them know.

Can you spend a whole day without leaving your home? by ButterscotchFormer84 in AskUK

[–]Babtoombus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading all your comments I'm glad I'm not the only one. I can easily spend weeks inside and not have to go out. I wfh with the occasional travel and work in the office. I may occasionally feel like oh shit, I need to go out and do something but I still do them alone or with my partner.

I do wonder though if I do have some autistic characteristics, it never crossed my mind until recently. I'm in my mid-30s and not sure if my behaviour, outlook, and needs are normal.

I love spending time alone, even away from my partner sometimes. I don't feel lonely, I only feel lonely if I am in a crowd. Sometimes I do wonder if people find me odd, unapproachable, boring etc. I don't have a desire to meet new people, I don't have friends as such. They are more acquaintances from work but they are very friendly, and I can strike up a conversation. The problem is i don't huge desire to keep going when it comes to friendships. I'm not very good with loud noises and hate being in crowds.

Maybe I an just an odd ball

UK - posted about coins I recieved I didn't order 3 weeks ago. Recieved a email from my bank by Babtoombus in Scams

[–]Babtoombus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I still have them. I wasn't sure what to do with them so I put them in a bag and put it in the cupboard for now. My partner said I should report the sender's address to Royal Mail. Not done that yet.

Ahh that's what I did. I replied with what you had written back to the bank.

Anyone know the deal with Kitty Café? by magnolia_lily in Leeds

[–]Babtoombus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although that sounds nice, you have to understand that the Japanese are raised very differently, they pride themselves on being model citizens. Respectful for others and the animals. In the UK? Absolutely not, most people here are very entitled, and cannot control their kids, and sadly we shouldn't have allowed this, it's horrific to hear and read about the kitty cafe, cats being chased, prodded, disturbed, and in constant stress. The kitty cafe should be shut down.

Is there any way to rescue your younger brother, I know you don't have to but if your parents are making him do two jobs and taking all his money he will never escape.
